Is ANTHRAX Already Recording New Material?

Anthrax's new album For All Kings came out this February, making it the first record the band had done in five years. To put that in perspective, the record before that was 2011's Worship Music, and the record before that was 2004's The Greater Of Two Evils. What I'm getting at here is that Anthrax is taking its time between releases, though what it does end up releasing is great.

So it comes as at least a little bit of a shock that vocalist Joey Belladonna tells The National Student that he's headed into the studio to record some vocals soon.

“I’m going to record something when I get back – a couple of songs – but that’s right in the middle of it. If something needs to be done, I’ve got to get in to do it. I hate to be rushed; I wish I could have done it two months ago but now there’s a window. I don’t like being ‘Oh, if it isn’t done today, that’s it!’ It’s got to be right. People write in the back of the bus on their way to their next city. I could do that, but we don’t.”

Maybe the band is recording some leftover ideas from the For All Kings album sessions as another release? Or this is just a few tracks that the band has recently been working on… or maybe it's the first Belladonna solo album since 2003! Who knows.

Either way, catch Anthrax on Late Night With Seth Myers on August 24.
