HIGH ON FIRE Recording New Album
- Posted by RobInjection on December 22, 2011
'Tis the season to be recording new music. High on Fire are currently holed up in Godcity Studios, which is owned by Converge axman Kurt Ballou, who is helping with the production of the record. While the band has no title yet for this 2012 release, here is what an excited Jeff Matz, bassist, has to say about the progress of the album:
“We are really stoked about recording this album. The new songs are turning out absolutely punishing; there are some seriously sledgehammer riffs on this one! Working with Kurt has been awesome as well. He’s super easy to work with and is full of good ideas. The sounds that the guy gets are ridiculous and raw as fuck but also clear and HUGE. I think this album will capture the essence of the band really well. It’s still early in the process, but so far it’s sounding amazing.”
Ballou certainly knows what he's doing, as do High On Fire. I can't wait to hear what they come up with. The band have posted a photo gallery on their Facebook page updating fans on the recording process.
