Guns N' Roses recently wrapped up their spectacularly successful reunion tour, which paired vocalist Axl Rose with guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan for the first time since 1997. The band has been talking in very general terms about doing a new record but never publicly committed to doing it.

Now in a new interview with KSHE95, guitarist Richard Fortus mentions that the band "are going to try to do another record and get it out soon" and that it "will happen faster than you think." Here's a brief transcription via Alternative Nation.

Fortus responded, “It could definitely happen.”

The host asked, “Do you already have stuff?”

Fortus cryptically responded, “Maybe.”

He was then asked if the band would record their new album in California.

Fortus answered, “I would think so.”

He also said Guns N’ Roses don’t plan on touring until the new album is ready.

“Slash is busy. We’re not going to do any more dates for a little bit.”

“It depends on whether or not we have a new record out. If we have something out, we can tour.”

“I think [Axl Rose] has got a lot to write about.”

Frankly, my guess is that Guns N' Roses already did the new record and they're just going to drop it without warning. It's not like their financial well-being depends on the success of this new record. As it stands right now, Guns N' Roses is Rose, McKagan, Slash, guitarist Richard Fortus who's been in the band since 2002, keyboardist Dizzy Reed who's been in the band since 1990, drummer Frank Ferrer who's been in the band since 2006 and keyboardist Melissa Reese who's been in the band since 2016.

No additional information or rumors about potential new Guns N' Roses is available at this time, but we do know that the band will not be contributing a T-Rex cover to an upcoming tribute record.
