CORROSION OF CONFORMITY Trying To Finalize Songs For 2017 Album

Corrosion of Conformity regained guitarist and vocalist Pepper Keenan in 2015 for the first time since 2006, and while Keenan has played plenty of shows with the group, there still hasn't been a record with his voice on it since 2005's In The Arms Of God.

According to bassist Mike Dean in an interview with Metal Hammer, the band is trying to get together a handful of songs to be recorded and released in 2017!

“We’re currently writing it and we have a whole lot of material that we are just trying to narrow down. We’re trying to get 25 rough ideas down to between 12 and 15 songs that we’ll record and release next year. Four or five of them are pretty much whole formed songs.”

“We keep saying yes to tours! We’ve always been in demand but with Pepper back it’s even more so. We’ve just agreed to do a tour with Torche and Red Fang…it’s hard to say no to that!”

Dean also touches on the absence of drummer Reed Mullin, who was ejected from the group recently due to alcohol abuse, but returned shortly thereafter. Mullin did not appear with the band live recently in the UK.

"We were at the airport to come to the UK when we got a call from Reed saying he blew out his knee. We nearly had to cancel the show but we decided to push ahead."

So I guess this is good news in that there's going to be a new album, but bad news that Mullin might not be doing so great.
