ARCH ENEMY's Alissa White-Gluz Wrote Part Of Her Solo Album With Jeff Loomis

All those Jeff Loomis riffs that didn't make new Arch Enemy.

All those Jeff Loomis riffs that didn't make new Arch Enemy.

Despite the fact that he's in the band, Arch Enemy's new album Will To Power doesn't feature any of ex-Nevermore guitarist Jeff Loomis' writing. While that sucks and seemed to bum out a lot of fans, Loomis' ideas aren't going to waste! Arch Enemy frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz will release her debut solo album under the moniker Alissa at some point in the future, and she tells Duke TV that Loomis was one of her collaborators.

White-Gluz also explains a little bit about why Loomis didn't contribute to Will To Power, though previous articles say the same thing – it was pretty much all guitarist Michael Amott and drummer Daniel Erlandsson.

"Jeff didn't write with Michael, because Michael was already writing so well with Daniel that we just actually had too many ideas. But all of Jeff's ideas are really good and I've heard them and they're gonna be released, so people will hear them… Jeff is gonna be one of my collaborators on my solo project, because how can you say no to that?"

White-Gluz says the album doesn't sound like Arch Enemy, and another one of her collaborators is Kamelot keyboardist Oliver Palotai. So hey, at least we finally get all those sweet, sweet Jeff Loomis riffs!
