ANIMALS AS LEADERS Working With PERIPHERY's Misha Mansoor On Their New Album RIGHT NOW!

Tosin Abasi New Animals As Leaders

While I appreciated the sophomore Animals As Leaders release, Weightless, it didn't pack the same punch as the original release. The original had such replay value… I could listen to it anytime. Maybe the missing ingredient from the second album was producer, Periphery guitarist and drum programming mastermind Misha Mansoor.

Well it looks like that missing ingredient is back in the fold.

Misha posted the above photo earlier today, with the caption "Tosin Abasi and I have been hard at work on the new Animals As Leaders material. 6 Songs down so far!" That's fucking progress.

Mansoor programmed all the drums on the initial release, before Tosin even had a band. I am super-excited for these two to collaborate again. I can only imagine the nerdy conversation that go over my head that these two are having.

New AAL in 2013? Yes, please!

    I believe 2013 is gonna a good year for the Modern Prog. First there is this new AAL album coming along and I believe the guys from Periphery have been working hard on Juggernaut too! And the Misha/Nolly production team is gonna bring awesome bands even more awesome!
