DIMMU BORGIR Hints Heavily That An Album Will Be Out In 2016

Posted by on April 12, 2016 at 10:07 am

Dimmu Borgir hasn't done anything in six years, though rumblings of a new record began late last year and we even got to hear 16 seconds of brand new music. Whether that music was just a pre-production track or a finished song is unclear, but it was new Dimmu Borgir so it was still exciting.

Now the band has announced via Facebook that it has signed with Nuclear Blast Records once more, and that we should watch out for information regarding a new record.

"We wish to inform you that DIMMU BORGIR and Nuclear Blast once again put pen to paper, acknowledging the past, present and future by opening another chapter in the history of extreme music! Stay tuned and watch this space for more updates on the new album and the 'Forces Of The Northern Night' live DVD/Blu-ray release as it becomes available!"

So if the band is actually done with a new record, then it stands to assume that there almost has to be a new record in 2016, right?

Have you ever seen them live!? 'Cos I have and he certainly didn't act like a hair metal musician when I saw them, nor on any other tour footage I own! You must be thinking if someone else!

I have seen them live myself and the first thing I thought when I looked at Shagrath was hair metal NOT

I certainly hope that it won't be an In Sorte Diaboli pt. 2, that album was a big disappointment for me (except for maybe 2 tracks). I like the direction they took with Abrahadabra, I wouldn't mind hearing more of that stuff, but it's been 6 years now and very little information from the hype factory, so I'm guessing they're gonna try out something new with this release.
Whether it will be a flop or a masterpiece, I'm looking forward to seeing what they're gonna come up with.

No ICS Vortex + no Mustis + "Abrahadabra" = very little interest from me. I'll be absolutely stunned if its a decent album incredibly pleased, but knowing that could be better
