INSOMNIUM - Through The Shadows (OFFICIAL VIDEO). Taken from the album "One For Sorrow". Century Media 2011.
After recently debuting their first single, “Unsung”, Finland’s INSOMNIUM is now ready to give North American fans yet another preview from their upcoming album, One For Sorrow (October 18th), with the premiere of their new music video, “Through the Shadows”, on Metal Injection! Like “Unsung”, “Through the Shadows” features the guttural prowess of vocalist/ bassist Niilo Sevänen, but also introduces fans to guitarist Ville Friman’s clean vocals. Described as melodically majestic and beautifully brutal, One For Sorrow nods at INSOMNIUM’s roots-- yet welcomes a new breath of versatility--while never deviating from the band’s melodic death metal roots.

This is brilliant! I know some fans are going to rip this video apart....but the melodies are great as always and the clean vocals actually provide a nice touch. I am so excited for this album. Hail Insomnium!
I agree good melodies and a good use of clean vocals. this is the first song i have ever heard from them and definitely like it.
melodic death metal
It needs to be said first: Ville Friman's vocals are awesome. Insomnium has been my favorite band since listening to "In the halls of awaiting" there hasn't been a single album I haven't felt an instant soul-binding connection to. Everything from lyrics, to music, to Ville Friman's vocals now and their use of clean vocals on the last album fully destroys. No question. Every album is undeniable proof of their growth as a band, and strangely with Insomnium there isn't a single damned thing I don't like about it. Much respect and gratitude.
This is ownage.
My favorite band. I can't wait to buy this album. Insomnium never lets me down. This was a very awesome video. I love the scenery.
Sounds nice, I dig the sound of the guitar through out the video.
This was my first time hearing an Insomnium song, and its really fucking good!
nice!
