Why are you guys making a big deal? Brain drill was good BECAUSE of marco pitruzella, so if he was in brain drill before then, its not like he contributed to their (over) success.

You forgot this part as well.
Q: Who can enter? A: Anyone can enter... The contest will be split into 2 divisions: either you are a drummer signed to a label or you are not signed to a label... Simple * If you have been in a signed band, but are not currently in one, you still will enter in the signed division It says....either YOU ARE SIGNED TO A LABEL OR NOT. Simple. I did not sign to a label EVER. You cannot even find a CD that I have been on because I haven't gotten to put it out yet. I never recorded for Brain Drill or signed with Metal Blade. I am no longer in Brain Drill and pretty much did nothing while I was in the band seeing how I live 5000 miles away. So we split. But if Marco Pitruzella who DID sign to Metal blade but is no longer in Brain Drill wanted to compete it would have to be under the signed division. That is what that means if you know how to read between the lines or just read the lines at all. It is just that simple. I had trouble figuring out which division I was in so I contact Ian at sickdrummer.com and he said "If you never signed a contract then you are unsigned." Pretty simple. Im playing by the rules. |

This is a direct quote from the blast off entry rules:
"* If you have been in a signed band, but are not currently in one, you still will enter in the signed division." You were in Braindrill, a signed band. |

If you have ever been in and recorded at least one full length with a signed band, and are not in that band anymore, you would need to enter as signed.
This seems to be the most fair way we can split the difference between a fully signed artist and guys like Joe, who basically got fucked around by a signed band in a strange situation.
Nothing against Braindrill, but with drummers changing bands so often in this genre, it's a fair way to do this...
Good luck to all who entered.
