DESPISED ICON Announce 2014 Reunion Shows

There will be shows in 2014 in the US, Canada and overseas!

There will be shows in 2014 in the US, Canada and overseas!

It's been almost four years since Despised Icon announced they were calling it quits and we were bummed. The band was at the forefront of the deathcore movement, before the term "deathcore" even existed. And that guitar tone!

It looks like the members of the band missed Despised Icon too, because today they've announced they'll be getting together for some shows this year:

It’s been over 3 years already since we played our last shows and long story short, we genuinely miss it. After a few talks and a couple of beers, we decided to get back together temporarily to play a handful of shows. We’re excited to announce that we’ll be returning to Europe in April on the Impericon Festivals in Vienna, Manchester and Cologne. To our friends in Canada and the US, we’ll have some good news for you as well in a few weeks. Thanks for sticking around with us after all these years. Can’t wait to see you all and crush the stage, one more time. Keep it brutal,

04/25/14 – Vienna, AT @ Impericon Festival
04/27/14 – Manchester, UK @ Impericon Festival
04/30/14 – Koln, DE @ Impericon Festival

The band also posted this video from their recent photo shoot session:

Lots of hints of a festival show in the States, which to me can only mean Despised Icon will be on Summer Slaughter 2014. We also speculated that Meshuggah might be on that bill… can you imagine?! Meshuggah and Despised Icon alone would be enough to get me out of my computer chair and into the pit. Please booking agency gods, make it happen!
