I can't believe it! ..................................... The Norse Pagans believed that Odin would ride above the tree tops on his eight legged horse, Sleipnir, followed by the ghosts of the dead. Odin was known as the leader of disembodied spirits, and storms were associated with his passing. In this animation, 3 Vikings camping just off the coast see the passing of Odin, Sleipnir, and the Souls of the dead firsthand. A storm is rolling in, and the older Viking is sick, and he dies. His disembodied soul is carried away by Odin, and the aging Viking joins Odin in the Wild Hunt. The other two wave goodbye. I decided I had to enter the Amon Amarth Viking video contest so I locked myself away for a week working on this thing day in and day out. It was difficult to really tell much story with the time limit of one minute, but I hope you find it entertaining. I drew inspiration from my obsession with Norse Paganism and of course Amon Amarth's music, as well as this quote: "When the winter winds blow and the Yule fires are lit, it is best to stay indoors, safely shut away from the dark paths and the wild heaths. Those who wander out by themselves during the Yule-nights may hear a sudden rustling through the tops of the trees - a rustling that might be the wind, though the rest of the wood is still. "But then the barking of dogs fills the air, and the host of wild souls sweeps down, fire flashing from the eyes of the black hounds and the hooves of the black horses" Kveldulf Hagen Gundarsson (Mountain Thunder) .......................... Title track from 2007 E.P. Shot over 3 show dates in Austin. Fusing the precision of metal with the nihilism of punk, Blunt Force Trauma slammed into the Austin, Texas music scene in 1999. Rising from the ashes of punk band Second Chance, singer Bobby Fuentes, guitarist Slaytoven, and bassist Bob Paxton set forth to smash the scene in the tradition of the brutal “crossover” pioneers such as Bad Brains, Slayer, D.R.I., and S.O.D. After recruiting local veteran metal drummer Ben Burton, the line-up was complete and set out on their mission to assault audiences with their five-alarm blaze of fury, thunderous rhythm and lightning riffs. In 2000, Blunt Force Trauma recorded and released their self-titled debut, a ten song, twenty-two minute musical and lyrical tirade on everything from trash-talking peers and exes to the sheer boredom and insanity of mandatory community service. 2001 found the band more seasoned and with a bigger enemy at which to target its vicious blows: The global corporate elite. Fuentes and the gang went to work on the venomous and unapologetically political onslaught which would ultimately become the anticipated GOOD MORNING AMERICA. Drummer Ben Burton left the group in late 2001, and GOOD MORNING AMERICA remained unreleased until 2005. The band searched off-and-on for Burton's replacement, never finding the right match, until 2007, when they teamed up with legendary former D.R.I. drummer Felix Griffin. Since reforming, BFT has shared the stage with the likes of Municipal Waste, Prong, and Reagan Youth, to name a few. The band closed out 2008 by welcoming Alex "Rager" Loughborough on bass. Blunt Force Trauma is currently gigging in Austin and around Texas, and working on new material for their 3rd full length. It is being reported by Channel 12 News in San Diego that The Harvest Floor CD by Cattle Decapitation was discovered in the killers room. Authorities found the bodies after an anonymous tip led them to the location. For much of the day Sunday, neighbors tried to catch a glimpse of what was going on as a number of detectives were digging in what appears to be a vegetable garden of the home, located just off Interstate 5. Then around 9 p.m., they watched as several body bags were rolled out on stretchers from behind the home. Those body bags were then driven away by San Diego coroners. "I thought there was just one. I was surprised to see they kept bringing them out," said neighbor Josephine Wagacknyk. After witnessing the disturbing scene, dozens of neighbors were left with even more questions. But the one thing that was obvious to everyone Sunday night was a strong foul odor which seemed to emanate from the home. "The stench. [It's a] real bad smell. If you've never been around a dead dog or something, then you wouldn't know. But I've been around dead animals so I know it's pretty bad," said Wagacknyk. Although police aren't releasing the name of the owner of the home, neighbors tell Channel 12 News that the suspect spends much of his time working in the vegetable garden while listening to heavy metal music . Upon further investigation, authorities found a CD which contained a song titled "A Body Farm" in the suspect's home; a song from an album that was released by local San Diego heavy metal band 'Cattle Decapitation'. Authorities are looking into this tragedy as being a possible "copycat crime" based on the band's disturbing music and lyrics . Channel 12 News attempted to contact the band, but the band's representatives declined to comment. The sheriff's office isn't expected to release the victims names until the coroner finishes the identification process and the next of kin are notified which is expected to be lengthy due to the advanced state of decomposition the bodies were in.
