Behemoth Vocal Cover Contest entry by ParasiteAesthetic
I chose to forsake using expensive recording and filming equipment and just record it with a digital camera. I feel that even though it won't sound nearly as polished, it's more honest that way. No fancy editing, no fancy microphone, just me and my trusty Beta 58. I thought I put forth a pretty good effort; I won't ever say that I'm better or worse than anyone else competing, but I do feel safe in saying that I have my own style and intensity that will hopefully be perceived as unique and considered for winning. August Burns Red - Carol of the Bells Drum Cover
A little info about me... I'm Adam from Canada, and I've been playing drums for a little over 1 year now! I play a Pearl Visions maple kit with Sabian cymbals (and that one lonely meinl) The reason behind the lack of drum audio is my dad's recording program. It's ancient (Vegas 4.0 - Before it was owned by Sony) and has many issues. When I finally got the perfect recording and I tried to sync it to the video, it turns out that Vegas sped up my recording! After trying to slow down my recording, I learn that the recording actually speeds up during the song...making it unsyncable :( Basically, I'm asking for a new recording program for Christmas. Behemoth Vocal Cover Contest entry by Erebus
Here is my cover for Ov Fire And The Void. I recorded my vocals in my friend's bedroom using Audacity and Garageband, adding a bit of reverb so that they would blend in smoothly with Nergals vocals and the rest of the song. Then I filmed myself headbanging and growling to the song in the garage. I took out the sound from the video and replaced it with my vocal cover, mainly so that I wouldn't have to keep redoing it in case I screwed up or got way out of breath from the motions of headbanging (I'm a little guy with a small set of lungs so I did this to avoid getting worn out). Also so I could included the vile painting of The River Styx, as the video's background, because I thought fit it nicely with the song and atmosphere. Normally I don't like glorify myself, but if I had to describe why I think I should win the contest it would be because of the emotion and work I put into my performance. The song, as well as others by Behemoth, brings me feelings of ecstasy and of being empowered, and I tried to convey this in my cover, especially when I did the growl and vomitous blackened scream towards the end on a whim. CATTLE DECAPITATION Body Farm
News footage has surfaced from the body farm that was unearthed yesterday in San Diego, CA. It is being reported by Channel 12 News in San Diego that The Harvest Floor CD by Cattle Decapitation was discovered in the killers room. Authorities found the bodies after an anonymous tip led them to the location. For much of the day Sunday, neighbors tried to catch a glimpse of what was going on as a number of detectives were digging in what appears to be a vegetable garden of the home, located just off Interstate 5. Then around 9 p.m., they watched as several body bags were rolled out on stretchers from behind the home. Those body bags were then driven away by San Diego coroners. "I thought there was just one. I was surprised to see they kept bringing them out," said neighbor Josephine Wagacknyk. After witnessing the disturbing scene, dozens of neighbors were left with even more questions. But the one thing that was obvious to everyone Sunday night was a strong foul odor which seemed to emanate from the home. "The stench. [It's a] real bad smell. If you've never been around a dead dog or something, then you wouldn't know. But I've been around dead animals so I know it's pretty bad," said Wagacknyk. Although police aren't releasing the name of the owner of the home, neighbors tell Channel 12 News that the suspect spends much of his time working in the vegetable garden while listening to heavy metal music . Upon further investigation, authorities found a CD which contained a song titled "A Body Farm" in the suspect's home; a song from an album that was released by local San Diego heavy metal band 'Cattle Decapitation'. Authorities are looking into this tragedy as being a possible "copycat crime" based on the band's disturbing music and lyrics . Channel 12 News attempted to contact the band, but the band's representatives declined to comment. The sheriff's office isn't expected to release the victims names until the coroner finishes the identification process and the next of kin are notified which is expected to be lengthy due to the advanced state of decomposition the bodies were in.
