VEIL OF MAYA debuted a new song on their recent tour opening for BTBAM. The song was something guitarist Mark Okubo talked about in our interview last year [link] - where he was going to take the numbers for the TV series L O S T (4 8 15 16 23 42) and turn it into a breakdown. The chorus, "Live Together... Die Alone" is a reference to the 2nd season's finale. Behemoth Vocal Cover Contest entry by Erebus
Here is my cover for Ov Fire And The Void. I recorded my vocals in my friend's bedroom using Audacity and Garageband, adding a bit of reverb so that they would blend in smoothly with Nergals vocals and the rest of the song. Then I filmed myself headbanging and growling to the song in the garage. I took out the sound from the video and replaced it with my vocal cover, mainly so that I wouldn't have to keep redoing it in case I screwed up or got way out of breath from the motions of headbanging (I'm a little guy with a small set of lungs so I did this to avoid getting worn out). Also so I could included the vile painting of The River Styx, as the video's background, because I thought fit it nicely with the song and atmosphere. Normally I don't like glorify myself, but if I had to describe why I think I should win the contest it would be because of the emotion and work I put into my performance. The song, as well as others by Behemoth, brings me feelings of ecstasy and of being empowered, and I tried to convey this in my cover, especially when I did the growl and vomitous blackened scream towards the end on a whim. Behemoth Vocal Cover Contest entry by jake5566
Video was made today, for this amazing opportunity and dedicated to Maurice Lacayo (My Close Brother), who passed away yesterday, he always respected everything I did especially when it came to the music I listened to and was inspired by, Behemoth has been one of my top from the first song I ever listened to, up to the last record they put out just a little while ago. This is a very honest and true cover No editing was made to this cover except taking out the beginning and the end clips of me turning the camera on and off. i used my Half-stack and Shure sm58 to record. I use a footswitch on my Line 6 so the only thing i did was add delay so i could match the "I" lyrical part of the song. I go crazy so be prepared, I've seen lots of covers of this song, most funny aspects (which I enjoyed) but this Brutal song still needs to be sought after in seriousness. 7 string would help a lot in my adventure of my musical abilities (5 years of playing guitar).
