Enter the woods! The Shadow Woods! With their best lineup to date, this jewel among festivals is back!

Shadow Woods 2017 was supposed to be the final iteration of this annual Maryland event, yet in the underground metal feel good story of the year, the festival has come back, powered by the devout fans who go every year and refused to let it die. There has always been a huge demand for this festival in the Mid Atlantic region and with the recently announced 2018 lineup it feels like the long weekend is going to be bigger than ever. A festival I once named the number one festival to attend before you die there is a truly special vibe conjured up by the camping and community atmosphere that defines the event. Now, at what we are promised is a beautiful new location at the Harper's Ferry Adventure Center, the festival is going to be augmented with all sorts of fun add-ons like zip lining and white water rafting on top of what is their best lineup to date. Toss in the fact that the folks behind the event have incredible taste and you start to see why this is an event worth flying out for.

Festival organizer, Mary Spiro had this to say:

It was pretty clear from the positive feedback I received after the 2017 fest that festival goers did not want to see Shadow Woods end, even though our property in Maryland had been sold, so without a venue or a confirmed lineup, I started quietly raising the funds to do a new fest via the contributions of past attendees. In January 2018, I was able to find an fantastic site to host the fest that was even better than what we had before. The lineup came together very quickly and I am extremely proud and excited to present these past favorites and new discoveries.
