OZZFEST 2010 Full Lineup and Dates Revealed

Ozzfest 2010 Headliners

Ozzfest 2010 is official! It's coming. Unlike previous incarnations of the tour, which saw it run throughout the entire country for a month, or more recently just be a destination festival, this year's version will run for about a week and feature a very eclectic lineup to say the least. Without further ado, here is the lineup:

Main Stage
Ozzy Osbourne
Mötley Crüe
Rob Halford
(performing solo, Judas Priest and Fight material)
DevilDriver
Nonpoint

Second Stage
Black Label Society
Drowning Pool
Kingdom of Sorrow
Goatwhore
Skeletonwitch
Saviours
Kataklysm

Not an incredibly impressive lineup. Does anybody still care about Motley Crue? Also, Nonpoint is still around? Same goes for Drowning Pool? Ultimately, this seems very skippable for me. But I have to say congrats to our boys in Skeletonwitch, along with Goatwhore and Saviours for getting on this bill. While it may not be for me, I'm sure they'll draw a ton of new fans.

See, the thing I realized a few years ago is it doesn't matter if Ozzfest is a strong or weak lineup. Most of the time, people just BBQ in the parking lot and get drunk all day and then come in right when Ozzy comes on. He is without a doubt the draw. This year, it seems like they are trying to appeal to the VH1 Classic crowd with the main stage. I'm not exactly sure what they're going for with the second stage, but I can't see anybody paying upwards of 50 or more dollars just to check out the bands on there.

If this has peaked your interest and you are curious about attending, you better live near a major market. There are only six shows on the entire Ozzfest run, most of them on the east coast:

Sat, Aug 14 – San Bernardino, CA – San Manuel Amphitheater
Tue, Aug 17 – Chicago, IL – First Midwest Bank Amp.
Thurs, Aug 19 – Pittsburgh, PA – First Niagara Pavilion
Sat , Aug 21 – Hartford, CT – Comcast Theater
Sun, Aug 22 – Camden, NJ – Susquehanna
Tue, Aug 24 – Boston, MA – Comcast Center

You have to wonder why the tour is so short this year. Could it be from the incredible amount of competition the tour is facing from the likes of Summer Slaughter, Mayhem Fest & Warped Tour, American Carnage, The Cool Tour, etc.? Or could it be that Ozzy can only go for a week and then needs a break? Notice there are only two back to back shows and the rest are very much spread apart.

Will you be attending this year's Ozzfest?

No. Even if it came here, I still wouldn't go.

they have kingdom of sorrow on there but isnt hatebreed on mayhem ? jasta is doing both tours? its obvious that ozzfest went to book these acts way too late in the game and mayhem and warped tour really grabbed all the bands that would draw out huge crowds… maybe next year they will start booking ozzfest in advance and release a lineup in jan, feb or march like warped and mayhem did

Given the rumors (Metallica, Tool, Down), seeing this was very disappointing, but the more I look at it, the more I'm putting it in the "maybe" column. Is Motley Crue any sillier than Korn, Rob Zombie, Godsmack, or Slipknot, the likes of which normally co-headline this tour? I'm fine with catching Goatwhore, Saviours, and Skeletonwitch, hanging out, and then catching the three topliners, who all know a thing or two about arena-sized thrills.

  4. Goddam… What a let down. I mean, I'd be going for Skeletonwitch, Motley Crue, and Ozzy. Fuck that, I'm going to American Carnage.

  5. Will Halford be performing any of his "Winter Songs" material?

  9. This is very disapointing after such a long waite for this to happen again and this is all we get? The only show near me is in PA and hell I realy don't want to pay alot of money just to see ozzy it would be just a waiste of time if you ask me.

Nothing really to get upset over here. Does this scaled back Ozzfest really surprise anyone? Ozzfest has been getting scaled back for several years now. I don't really have a problem with the line-up other than Motley Crue. Ozzfest is a metal festival now all the douche Crue fans will be there. That's reason enough for any metal fan to avoid this like the plaque. I would like to see Kingdom of Sorrow, DevilDriver and Goarwhore but I'm paying $50 and driving over 100 miles to do it. If it wasn't for Crue I'd think about it but that totally kills it for me. Mayhem looks like the tour not to miss.

goddamn, pretty much all the fest tours suck ass this year, last years Mayhem had Job for a Cowboy, Black Dahlia, Behemoth, this year it has rob zombie and Korn? What the fuck is that? This is the weirdest damn Ozzfest lineup I've ever seen though, Goatwhore and skeletonwitch alongside Motley Crue, Halford and….drowning pool and Nonpoint? WHAT? god this hurts to think about, it won't be anywhere near where I'll be, so no, that's a definite not going.

  12. Zethus says:

    0.o

That's a weird set for sure! I would go only for Skeletonwitch, Goatwhore, Saviours and Kataklysm (gotta support the canadian metal) but aside from that….no damn way. I've seen Ozzy and Halford, though a good show an all…..not worth the money I paid ($120.00 for floor) but thank god there were a ton of other kick ass bands that made it worth it….anyways, I wouldn't go to this one if I had the chance.

  13. n7warlock says:

Devildriver would be the only band on the mainstage i would even want to see..disappointing lineup to be sure. Mayhem has way better bands, think i'll be savin the coinage for that show.

  14. MetalisDead says:

Oh no,a band that Ozzy loves, that has opened for him in the past, sold over 50 milion records and actually has fans will be on the Ozzfest lineup. What are all you redneck-neo-nazi-homos pissed off because some actual decent looking girls might show up and ruin bundle-of-sticks-sore-ass-in-the-closet-good-time? Its nice to know that actual music will drive all you illeterate idiots away from the show. Maybe now without all you prison-shower-gang-bangers there, Ozzfest can be enjoyed and Ozzy can actually play is songs the way they were recorded and stop this overally distorted heavy shit that he has played to appease you morons. Ozzy was the lead singer of Black Sabbath. Anyone that wants to question his lineup and who he enjoys being around and palying shows with truly doesn't understand the divers history of metal. You black metal idiots and thrash heads have a very small segemnt of the metal community (because your music sucks). And don't you ever f***ing forget that if Motley Crue didn't reign in the 80's, that none of the shit that you listen to now would have ever gotten the chance to be recorded if not for ground breaking songs like Shout At the Devil. Thats right Motley Crue is back where they belong, on stage before Ozzy and Motley Crue fans are coming with. All we want to do is fight and fuck. So why don't you show up you pussy-ass-red-neck-homos? What you all pissed off because none of your bands could sell shit or support a major tour until Metallica got Motley Crue's producer and copied the Dr. Feelgood album.

  15. Motley Crue are not the band they used to be. They were ok back in the day but they're not relevant now. And what's wrong with black and thrash metal? Nothing. At least they are genres that still have some credibility, unlike what Crue have become.
