METALLICA To Play "The Black Album" In Full at Download Festival 2012

black_Album

Metallica were just announced as the first headliners of Donnigton, UK's Download Festival 2012. The band will be headlining the Saturday night of the festival and playing the seminal self-titled album, more commonly referred to as the Black Album in it's entirety to celebrate the 20th anniversary of it's release. It's been 20 years, huh? Who else remembers going to Tower Records to pick this sucker up the week of release? (I'm old!) Download’s 10th Anniversary will take place between June 8-10 2012 with the first round of tickets going on sale this Friday on the official website.

This brings up the question… in seven years are Metallica going to be playing Load/ReLoad back to back? Or even worse, in 10 years, will they be playing St. Anger in full? The answer…No!

I think they should play "St. Anger" live. This way when they fuck it up and play sloppy, no one can tell.

It'll be too hard to install a kitchen to the set. No pots, no pans, NO ST. ANGER!

      • NeonCultUvSharkClaspers

Just borrow Chris Adler from Lamb of God's snare drum. It always sounds St. Angery.

  • XenoJesus

Ewww… I've lost even MORE respect for Selloutica.

  • The New Flesh

I reckon they know that their fans aren't happy with them. Evasive measures taken with their last great album?
