METALLICA Announce Location Of ORION FEST 2013

orion-detroit

We had a great time at the inaugural Orion fest presented by Metallica. You can view our video report from the event here.

Metallica, clearly also had a good time, as they're getting ready for the second annual version of the festival, but this time it's not in Atlantic City. It's in the motor city, Detroit, Michigan.

The event will take place June 8th and 9th. The band revealed the location today in a video announcement, which you can view below…

Trending-Avenge Sevenfold(would personally like to see them live), Tool(AWESOME TALENT-love them!), Soundgarden & Alice n Chains 2 of my all time favorites (they need a boost-not too sure about new stuff-they used to rock hard) for mainstream…. Anthrax, Iron Maiden and Slayer are playing Rio 2013 with Metallica-can never go wrong with the legends. Would love to see female metal: Lacuna Coil or Evanescence*

Personal requests Pantara!!!-Disturbed!!! MY NEWEST BAND CONTENDER choices: Dragonforce (anyone who appreciates music knows they are unreal) & Five Finger Death Punch-kick ass live!

Bob Segar(lives there) should make a guest appearance for Turn the Page and Kid Rock should introduce the show and get the crowd pumped(we love us some Kid Rock-he's actually a metal head.

ULTIMATE SHOW BEFORE I DIE MEGADETH & METALLICA CONCERT -no others needed!

Last year was amazing. RedFang, Sword, Ghost, Black Tusk.. I about pissed myself when I realized Roky Erickson was there. haha Why June though? To F'n hot! Throw that party in September. I'd love to see some more stoner/doom there. Orchid would be the shit. Those guys really deserve a break. If they are to unknown, then I'd say Orange Goblin, Sleep/High on Fire, or Kyuss.

That is what was great though, Metallica picked some awesome talent that aren't commercially known well enough to throw such a huge show alone. That's why I like them even if their music has changed, you can tell they still love music themselves. They're just a pack of really lucky metalheads living the dream.
