MESHUGGAH Announce 25th Anniversary North American Tour with BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME (Updated)

Could this be the greatest tour of all time?

Could this be the greatest tour of all time?

Could this be the greatest tour of all time? Maybe!

We had a feeling that Meshuggah was about to line up some North American dates after they were announced as one of the acts for Bonnaroo. They wouldn't just renew their visas and buy plane tickets for just one show, would they? Nope, they wouldn't!

Turns out the band is planning a tour called the 25 Years of Musical Deviance tour, as revealed by this House of Blues Boston listing, and their special guests are none other than Between the Buried and Me. Wow! That booking agent deserves a raise because this is an awesome combo.

Update: Meshuggah have just officially announced the tour with the following routing:

06/06/14 The Wiltern – Los Angeles, CA
06/07/14 The Regency Ballroom – San Francisco, CA
06/09/14 Ogden Theater – Denver, CO
06/11/14 House of Blues – Dallas, TX
06/13/14 Bonnaroo Music Festival – Manchester, TN
06/14/14 Pop’s – Sauget, IL
06/15/14 Vic Theatre – Chicago, IL
06/17/14 The Fillmore – Silver Spring, MD
06/18/18 House of Blues – Boston, MA
06/19/14 Sound Academy – Toronto, ON – CANADA
06/20/14 Amnesia Rock Fest – Montebello, QC – CANADA
06/21/14 Best Buy Theater – New York, NY

As it is the 25th anniversary tour, the band is letting fans vote in a Facebook survey on the songs the band plays in their setlist. You can vote for one song off each album right here. Here's the band's official message:

The ninth wonder of the unnatural world, Sweden’s technically intoxicating extreme metal quintet MESHUGGAH, are returning to North America this summer to celebrate their 25th year of musical deviance with festival appearances, Canadian dates, and clubs that will fill to capacity. Opening for them (on all but the two festival dates) will be North Carolina’s Between The Buried And Me.

MESHUGGAH aim to play a very special 25th Anniversary set by performing selections from their entire discography & possibly include some rare songs that haven’t been played live in many years. Fans have the opportunity to vote for the songs they want to hear via MESHUGGAH’s online song poll: www.facebook.com/meshuggah/app_151503908244383

Voting ends April 2nd!
