STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Post Heartfelt Tribute To SCOTT WEILAND

Tributes have been pouring in from the rock and metal world in the wake of Scott Weiland's tragic death, including Scott's former bandmates in Velvet Revolver. One voice was actively missing, and that was his former bandmates, Dean & Robert De Leo and Eric Kretz, the remaining members of Stone Temple Pilots.

Turns out the band wanted to choose their words wisely. They just posted this touching tribute:

“Dear Scott,

Let us start by saying thank you for sharing your life with us.
Together we crafted a legacy of music that has given so many people happiness and great memories.
The memories are many, and they run deep for us.
We know amidst the good and the bad you struggled, time and time again.
It’s what made you who you were.
You were gifted beyond words, Scott.
Part of that gift was part of your curse.
With deep sorrow for you and your family, we are saddened to see you go.
All of our love and respect.

We will miss you brother,
Robert, Eric, Dean“

This obviously was not an easy statement to make for the band, who didn't exactly have the best relationship with Scott before he passed. They kicked him out of the band due to his inconsistent performances and replaced him with Chester Bennington for a new album. Bennington has since left the project to focus on his main gig, Linkin Park and his personal life. STP are currently without a vocalist.
