Norwegian Clock Tower To Chime MOTORHEAD & DAVID BOWIE Songs Until May

What a tribute!

What a tribute!

The world lost two legends within a few weeks of each other, Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister and the enigmatic David Bowie. Tributes have been pouring in, via photoshopped imagery and mashups of both artists' work, but the city of Oslo, Norway is taking it to another level.

Dangerous Minds reports the clock tower atop the City Hall in Oslo, Norway has committed to paying tribute to the two legends throughout May. The tower is known for it's musical interludes at the top of the 6pm and 7pm hour, the 49 bells will chime David Bowie's "Changes" from Hunky Dory at Motorhead's "Electricity" from their final album, Black Magick, respectively. Here is video footage of the Motorhead chimes:

(A higher quality version of the above video can be found here.) And here are the Bowie chimes:

Oslo Town Hall’s carillonist, Laura Marie Rueslaatten Olseng, saw how Lemmy's death affected the locals and said the lyrics to "Electricity" reflected “an attitude that fit Oslo very much.” Once Bowie died, there was no question that the tower would pay tribute to him as well. The clock tower has played everyone from Kraftwerk to Nine Inch Nails in years past.

What a tribute!
