Metal Musicians React To David Bowie Passing Away Suddenly of Cancer

Dave Bowie did not play heavy metal, but you would be a fool to think he didn't have a massive influence on the genre. Beyond the superifical influence he may have had on glam metal, the man was an artist in the purest form. He was ultimately always himself, never trying to appease anybody and his spirit no doubt influenced many of the musicians you listen to today.

You don't have to take my word for it. Tributes have been pouring out since the announcement late last night, that Bowie died after an 18 month battle with cancer. Here is a roundup of metal musicians and some rock musicians showing their love to one of the greats:
