WEEDEATER Goes Cough Syrup Tasting
Dixie Dave of Weedeater joins Heavy Dicks for their premiere episode on Noisey, doing what he does best…tasting cough syrup (with cheese naturally). We love Dixie Dave, and spent an afternoon not too long ago asking him 10 questions about weed.

WEEDEATER Mancoon…Turkey Warlock video
Director David Brodsky imagines Weedeater’s “Mancoon…Turkey Warlock” as a heavy metal fairy tale that takes a nightmarish turn. The story begins when a smug, well-dressed gentleman and a man in a raccoon mask steal the band members from their couch-slumber. It doesn’t end well for them.

Rob hangs with "Dixie" Dave Collins outside of a police station and asks him 10 weed related questions. If anybody knows about weed, it's fucking Weedeater.

A/V Roundup: New music from AMON AMARTH, CLUTCH, WEEDEATER. New Trippy MASTODON Footage
The weather is really nice in NYC today and here I am collecting new tunes for you guys to blast. So check these out while I escape the clutches of the digital world and go outside for a smoke…
You can hear another preview track off Amon Amarth's anticiptated forthcoming release, Surtur Rising over at the German Metal Hammer site. The track, "For Victory Or Death" sort of starts out like something you would hear in one of the old Zelda games and quickly picks up the heavy with the signature Amon sound. I can't wait to blast this album.
Clutch fans, get pumped, cause new music from the band is on it's way. The band just posted a new track on Relix.com. The track comes off of Basket of Eggs, which is a bonus disc included with the forthcoming reissue of their album, Blast Tyrant. (more…)
MASSIVE Audio Roundup: New Music From CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, PROTEST THE HERO, DEVILDRIVER, DARKEST HOUR, WEEDEATER, NEURAXIS, SCALE THE SUMMIT
It's been a while since we've done an audio roundup, which means this is going to be a bit longer than your usual roundup. So I'll stop yapping and let's get to the music:'
Cavalera Conspiracy have unleashed the first teaser (above) from their upcoming release, Blunt Force Trauma, for the track "Killing Inside" and guess what? It sounds exactly as you would expect a Max Cavalera track to sound. Not to say it's bad, it's pretty good…but they aren't exactly reinventing the wheel.
Protest The Hero just posted the first new track from their upcoming release, Scurrilous on their Facebook page. The track is "C'est La Vie." You don't even need to "like" them to hear it, they just let you stream it, and it's awesome. Highly recommended! Also, you can keep up with the band as they recorded their album via their Stewdio Pupdates.
DevilDriver have a new album, Beast, coming out in a few weeks and they are making sure you can hear new music from it before you choose to buy/download it. You can stream "Bring The Fight (To The Floor)" here and Coldblooded here
Darkest Hour's The Human Romance is upon us! It comes out February 22nd and you can stream two tracks from the album: Your Everyday Disaster and Savor The Kill. I'm really digging this new material from the band and I'm pretty pumped to hear the whole thing. If you recall, the band first discussed the new album exclusively with us on their most recent tour. Watch that interview here
OMFG! I'm glad I just burned one, because Weedeater is streaming a new track over at Brooklyn Vegan. Yes! I'm listening to the track as I write this blurb and the low-end on my speakers is about to burst. Just how I like it!
If you like your metal with a tinge of death and a splash of technicality, then check out this new track from Canada's Neuraxis.
Finally, if you want sit back and chill to an instrumental quartet that is really good at playing their instruments, then ride the groove waves provided by Scale The Summit as their track "Whales" has just premiered over at MetalSucks. I've heard their entire new album, The Collective, which comes out March 1st, and I can't get it out of my rotation. If you like bands like Cynic and Animals As Leaders, this one is a no-brainer!
So there you have it. Which tracks did you check out and which ones blew you away?

Eastern Plague: COUGH
Crossing an ocean and more than a few international borders in pursuit of the almighty riff has taken up a bit more time than I'd expected, but after a European metal-induced hiatus of sorts, Grim Kim is back to spread the good word about the best bands you've never heard of. I've settled into a lovely little flat in North London (which, oddly enough, looks a helluva lot like my usual West Philly stomping ground) and am comin' atcha fully armed with a slew of deliciously dirty new bands to shove down your throats. Ironically enough, this first-ever European edition of Revelations of Doom focuses on an American band, from the very same East Coast that I (usually) call home. This one's for the old guard – the true sludge freaks, the dedicated doom 'heads, and the diehard amplifiers worshippers out there. Sit back, light up, and get ready for some pain.
Much like Athens, Georgia, the unassuming little burg called Richmond, Virginia has emerged as an epicenter of sorts for modern metal and hardcore. While most of you are already familiar with some of her more well-known sonic offspring (Lamb of God, Municipal Waste, Cannabis Corpse) it's RVA's lesser-known, underground bands that kids should really be losing their shit over, whether it be Bastard Sapling (who put out the single best demo recording of 2007), Battlemaster, Inter Arma, Ravn, or the subject of this edition of Revelations of Doom – Cough.
