Audio Roundup: New music from CRADLE OF FILTH, AS I LAY DYING, THY WILL BE DONE, YAKUZA and DECEASED

It's Friday! The weekend is so close, I can taste it. Then again, that could just be my lunch. Eww. Let's get to the music:

Cradle of Filth put out a new song today and…I don't hate it. That's a particularly snarky review of the song, but only because a lot of the band's recent output was pretty terrible. This is not terrible. The track is “For Your Vulgar Delectation” and it comes off the album The Manticore and Other Horrors, which is released October 30th via Nuclear Blast. Check it out:

Our buddies in Thy Will Be Done are streaming a new track off their EP, Temple over at AbsolutePunk. You can also check out a behind the scenes feature on the making of the EP here. (more…)

THY WILL BE DONE To Release Temple EP Next Month

Template 301_Jewel Case 2 Panel Insert

Thy Will Be Done is coming out with a new EP called Temple on September 25, and I'm going to go ahead and say that it will be among my favorite albums to come out this year. The new 6-song EP will be the third release following 2009's crushing In Ancient of Days. Temple was produced and engineered by the band, with Zuess (The Acacia Strain, Suicide Silence, Soulfly) handling mixing duties. Here's the track listing: (more…)

Last week, I interviewed Baroness on my SiriusXM Liquid Metal show, and they premiered a new track called "Eula." It rules! While a couple of bootlegs popped up online, you can now hear an official stream over at SPIN.com. Their double album, Yellow/Green comes out July 17th. (more…)

METALLICA's Orion Music & More Festival Announces Lineup For Metal Stage

YouTube Preview Image

One of the big critiques of Metallica when they announced this two day festival in Atlantic City, happening June 23rd and 24th, was that there was not enough metal on the event. The Four Horsemen have heeded your call. Today, they announced that the Orion Music and More festival will have an additional stage for metal and punk bands called the Damage Inc. stage, and the lineup for this stage is surprisingly kinda awesome: (more…)

Hey, what's former ISIS frontman Aaron Turner up to nowadays? If you said fronting an old-school crusty punk band, then you are correct! The band is Split Cranium and their self-titled debut LP comes out on Turner's Hydra Head Records on March 20th. Above is your first taste of new music from the band. (more…)

FEAR FACTORY are going to have a busy summer

DEVILDRIVER and SUFFOCATION to go out on co-headlining tour

Devildriver reppin Suffocation

Hmm, this is a little weird. DEVILDRIVER and SUFFOCATION are going out on the road together. Does this really make sense? I think there is some sense in it. SUFFOCATION are one of the heaviest bands on the planet, whereas DEVILDRIVER is sort of a gateway band into heavier music. Some 'driver fans than show up early may be blown away by Suffo and thus become converts, while others will just stand there with a confused gaze on their faces. It's heavily rumored that GOATWHORE and THY WILL BE DONE will also be on the bill. Is this a tour you see yourself attending?

Current itinerary of dates after the jump… (more…)

NEW ENGLAND METALFEST Coverage Continues; NEW Interviews posted ft. IWRESTLEDABEARONCE, THY WILL BE DONE & WOE OF TYRANTS

Our week-long coverage of the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival continues today with three really funny video interviews posted. Take a peek:

Interview with J. Costa of THY WILL BE DONE
Vocalist J. Costa of THY WILL BE DONE has to be one of the funniest mother fuckers in all of metal. He has a great wit and does a killer Christopher Walken impersonation, perhaps the best in all of metal – an all around great dude. It was so funny noting the difference of his off-stage persona with his fierce on-stage presence. Dude is a monster on stage, but off is a total teddy bear. Just like we like 'em! Check out the interview.

Interview with IWRESTLEDABEARONCE
I tried! I really tried to have a somewhat serious interview with this band, but they just were not having it! We had a good time though, and I got my crotch tagged with stickers. This is not the last you will be seeing of IWABO this week, as they helped us in a huge way with our Metal Spring Break piece. Details on that will be out shortly, but for now watch this goofy interview.

Interview with WOE OF TYRANTS
Full disclosure: I knew virtually nothing about this band, with the exception of the music video we posted from the band a few weeks back. But they ended up being really nice dudes who understand sarcasm and played along pretty well. Check it out!

Tomorrow, we will post interviews with CHILDREN OF BODOM, SYLOSIS, WHITECHAPEL and BISON B.C.. Also on deck in the next few days will be interviews with NAPALM DEATH, AS I LAY DYING, THE ACACIA STRAIN, CATTLE DECAPITATION, PSYOPUS, AFTER THE BURIAL, TRAP THEM and VEIL OF MAYA. Stay tuned to the New England MetalFest channel for more videos.
