Last week, we published Aline's awesome tour diary from going on the road with the Decibel Magazine tour. Today, we publish nearly 500 photos she captured while on the road with Behemoth, Watain, The Devil's Blood and In Solitude. It was a killer tour and here are her killer snaps.

On The Road with BEHEMOTH, WATAIN and The Decibel Magazine Tour

My sincerest apologies for this long overdue labor of love. My insatiable thirst for metal got the better of me this past spring and summer, and I admittedly took on far too much work than any one sane person ought to.

Luckily, nobody has ever accused me of being sane…hence the backlogs and delays.

The third week of April brought the much anticipated Decibel Tour to the Pacific Northwest where I started my first night of the tour coverage in Seattle, Washington.

What a line-up. DAMN! Featuring Behemoth, Watain, The Devil’s Blood and In Solitude, this extraordinary variation of occult and black metal offered a chilling package that kept things gloriously filthy and barbaric night after night.

What was really significant about this tour is that a similar line-up was supposed to take place in 2011, with Behemoth and Watain touring together, and Goatwhore and Black Anvil providing support. Unfortunately, due to Nergal’s health concerns as he batted leukemia, Behemoth could not attend, and Watain, Goatwhore, and Black Anvil toured together.

It was fantastic to see Behemoth and Watain finally able to join forces, and to have Behemoth back on U.S. soil for the first time since Nergal’s recovery. Having witnessed the unholy spectacle of Watain and In Solitude together in Gothenburg, Sweden late last November, I was stoked to see these two bands in tandem again as well. (more…)

WTF! Bus Driver For THE DEVIL's BLOOD Takes Money, Leaves Them Stranded In San Antonio

The Decibel Magazine Tour, featuring Behemoth, Watain, The Devil's Blood, and In Solitude, has been a lot of drama. First, the guy who owns the Alrosa Villa, in Columbus, Ohio, banned the bands from playing his venue due to religious conflicts. Then, Watain can't get even get their visas secured, so they were forced to miss the first five shows of the trek. Things seemed to have been going good, until the bands rolled into San Antonio, where The Devil's Blood's tour bus driver ditched the band and ran off with their money. BEHEMOTH Banned At Ohio Venue Over Religious Beliefs

Some people apparently just can't deal with Satan, as the owners of The Brewmaster's Gate in Columbus, Ohio banned Behemoth, Watain, The Devil's Blood, and In Solitude from performing April 11th due to religious conflicts. The show has been moved to Alrosa Villa (if that name sounds familiar, it just happens to be the venue that Dimebag was tragically murdered at). Tickets can be purchased at this location. When Nergal said Behemoth would be playing "the most satanic tour that's going to invade the U.S in a long time", I became instantly fucking stoked to see who the band would be bringing along with them. Once Decibel announced that the magazine would be producing an inaugural festival this year, I almost expected it to be Behemoth's "satanic" tour. And it looks like my hunch was right, the Decibel Magazine Tour will feature Behemoth, Watain, In Solitude, and The Devil's Blood. Tour dates are after the jump: (more…)

Attention, Stoners: Revelations of Doom

Welcome to Revelations of Doom, Metal Injection's portal into the seedy underworld of extreme metal. Your tour guide is, as always, Grim Kim, and this time around, I've got something for you that's colored a little lighter than the usual sludge fiends and black metal tyrants that populate this column. Imagine the unholy union of Blood Ceremony, Mourn, Jex Thoth, and Dead Meadow- all fuzzy guitars, psychedelic meanderings, hints of '70s sexiness, haunting female vocals, and just enough doomed resolve to keep things firmly on the heavy side of the spectrum. Meet Uzala.

Boise, Idaho isn't exactly the most happenin' city around. The Midwest is a fertile breeding ground for sweet metal bands (see: the Chicago scene as a whole, plus the Indianapolis-bred Coffinworm, Black Arrows of Filth & Impurity, and The Gates of Slumber to start) but I can't think of a single notable band that's come out of Boise (correct me if I'm missing someone obvious). Either way, cheers to Uzala for leading the charge! I discovered this doomed quartet on accident. I reconnected with my friends Chad and Darcy (who are also both killer tattoo artists) at this year's Roadburn fest, and they happened to mention that their band had just finished recording a demo. Of course my interest was piqued, and a few days later, Uzala's maiden voyage into the unknown showed up in my mailbox. My first thought was, "Whoa! Four songs in nineteen minutes? Slow down there, speed racer! Isn't this supposed to be doom?" (more…)
