Monday's over and we have some tunes to get you through the week…
Soilwork have posted what will be their first official single off The Panic Broadcast titled "Deliverance Is Mine". Hear it on their MySpace page.. The band is also shooting a video for the track with director Ivan Colic (Type O Negative, Ex Deo). The track is a fun upbeat tune sure to get your head banging. You can bet on the band playing the track on their upcoming headlining tour.
Leng Tch'e have posted another new track on their MySpace page which features vocals by Napalm Death frontman Mark "Barney" Greenway. The band's new album, Hypomanic, is out now.
Impending Doom have made the title track of their upcoming release, There Will Be Violence, available on their MySpace page for streaming. Our good friends at MetalSucks have a fantastic review of it.
We learned a few weeks back that Meshuggah guitarist is actively recording a new solo record and now more details have surfaced.
We already know Morgan Ågren will be drumming on the record, but it looks like he won't be the only one. Soilwork drummer Dirk Verbeuren posted released this statement recently:
"What a dream come true! Fredrik has been very supportive of my career for many years in many ways, and I respect him immensely both as a musician and songwriter. It was huge for Scarve to be asked to open for Meshuggah and we've been in touch ever since. When Fredrik asked me to be a part of the second Special Defects record, I just couldn't believe it! Now that I have the Soilwork album under my belt, it's exciting to dive into a completely different challenge where my drum parts will be based on improvisation more than anything else."
I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to hear this. This may be my most anticipated release of 2010. If you aren't convinced yet, maybe this will help.
SOILWORK have just recently announced that they will be hitting the road this July and they have a stacked lineup of bands to support them. They will be hitting the road with DEATH ANGEL, AUGURY, MUTINY WITHIN & SWASHBUCKLE. The tour kicks off on July 14th in West Springfield, VA and wraps up a month and a day later on August 15th in Hartford. Here is the full itinerary… (more…)
In what will stand as one of the year's best tour packages, SOILWORK, DARKANE, WARBRINGER and SWALLOW THE SUN invaded the Highline Ballroom for a post-St. Valentine's Day asskicker, an excuse to blitz area headbangers with an overdose of melodic death metal and treat to those of us who didn't have to get up early for President's Day.
SOILWORK recently conducted a poll to determine the setlist for their North American tour, and they've posted the results online. A message from the band reads in part, "We will perform these songs every night on our upcoming North American headlining tour…Of course we’ll play many more than just these 10 tracks…The rest of our setlist will also be largely based on your votes, including your top picks off Sworn To A Great Divide. Expect a couple of good surprises there!”
Soilwork's tour with DARKANE, WARBINGER and SWALLOW THE SUN kicks off January 30 in Rochester, NY. For those of you who want to be surprised, the setlist titles (and the tour dates) are conveniently listed after the jump. (more…)
