When this whole Ozzy & Friends thing was announced, I thought it was a lame substitute for Black Sabbath actually performing, but since that wasn't happening, this is what most of Europe got. The Black Dahlia Murder have made a third track, "Malenchanments Of The Necrosphere," from their upcoming release, Ritual available for streaming on Alternative Press's website. I've had the album for a little over a week, and this is definitely one of the strongest tracks on the record. So this is what Dave Lombardo does on his off time…

When I interviewed Dave Lombardo of SLAYYYEEERRRR at last year's Mayhem Fest, he made it clear that he listens to a lot of music, and only a small portion of it is metal, let alone thrash. I believe him! Live footage has surfaced of one of Dave's many side projects, Philm (which also features guitarist Gerry Nestler of Civil Defiance and bassist Pancho Tomaselli of War) playing a free show in LA a few weeks back. The band can be described as rock for sure, but I don't know about metal. Maybe metal in the ISIS sort of way. It's all about the groove though and the music sounds really fun. This looks like a really low key project as the only official site for the band is a Facebook page. What do you guys think?
