Take A Tour Of Lemmy's Apartment
I have yet to see Lemmy, the documentary about one of the most metal motherfucker on the planet, Lemmy Kilmister but I can't wait to. The movie premiered while we were in SXSW, and I was not able to catch a screening because I was too busy running around and catching bands play. But I am in luck as the movie is set to have a limited run in theaters in major US markets in January and will be released on DVD February 15th. Rolling Stone got their hands on an exclusive clip from the movie showcasing Lemmy's apartment. I think it's awesome that Lemmy keeps things low-key, choosing the place he sleeps in based on it's proximity to the Rainbow Room, a famous LA bar which he frequents most nights he's in town. Is it me or is Lemmy a bit of a hoarder? Either way, he's still a cool S.O.B. and I will never forget having the chance to interview him earlier this year.

Lemmy Gets Drunk; Slows Down Ace of Spades; Cashes In
If you ever find yourself in the Los Angeles area, and end up at the most metal bar in town, The Rainbow, chances are pretty good that you will see Lemmy at the end of the bar, playing the arcade poker games. He's been there so long, he dominates the top 10 scores in the game. Also, the guy clearly likes to drink. That's why I'm not surprised he decided it was a good idea to cash in on this beer commercial that was offered to him. All he had to do was slow down Motorhead's most recognizable song, and honestly, it doesn't sound half bad. The full version of the track is currently being offered as a free download.
I understand why Lemmy did it, the dude needs some income and probably doesn't feel like touring. I'm not nearly as annoyed as my pal Axl Rosenberg over at Metalsucks. It's far less degrading then joining the Fanta band. Ultimately, the commercial will no doubt introduce the band's music to somebody who may never have heard it otherwise.
This One Is For The Ladies…
Lemmy Kilmister is not only a rock legend, he is a sex symbol. Need proof? Why scroll your feeble browser down a few pixels to see a lovely photograph Lemmy took with the female demographic in mind. This explains why Lemmy can score the hot chicks, like that time at the Revolver Golden God Awards when we interviewed him.

Metal Injection @ SXSW 2010: A Hazy Recollection

Check out all of our SXSW 2010 videos
South By SouthWest is over and I barely remember it. And, that's definitely a good thing. There was a ton of music, a LOT of partying, some doobies and a whole lot of fun. This may have been the most fun I've ever had "covering" an event for Metal Injection. Read on as I try to recollect everything that happened in a day-by-day recap: (more…)

CD review: HIGH ON FIRE, Snakes for the Divine
Just like the most famous serpent in the Old Testament, Snakes for the Divine will lead you into temptation. It could make you disavow orders, seek knowledge, find your most carnal instincts or just bang your head until your spine shatters. In any case, HIGH ON FIRE's newest monster can be compared to an apple from the Tree of Knowledge. Take a bite and there's no return to your previous state of naive passiveness, but you'll be all the better for it. (more…)
Larry David Gone Metal

Curb Your Enthusiasm may just be my favorite TV comedy of all time. A few months ago, I watched a marathon of episodes from the first few seasons and couldn't believe how much I can relate to the 60-year old creator of Seinfeld. The show pokes fun at awkward everyday situations, except instead of moving along and ignoring conflict, Larry David runs head first into the problem leading to comedy gold. This is why as soon as I saw the above shirt, paying homage to Larry David via the iconic MOTORHEAD logo, I had to get it right away. The shirt is available at Shirts&Destroy for 15 bucks. You can order it here (scroll down a bit to see it).

AC/DC to headline Download Festival 2010 with help from MEGADETH, MOTORHEAD & THEM CROOKED VULTURES

It's official: AC/DC are coming back to Donington Park to headline the 2010 incarnation of the Download Festival. This will be the band's 3rd appearance headlining a festival in Donington. Among the other announced acts for the 3 day festival which kicks off Friday June 13th are: THEM CROOKED VULTURES, DEFTONES, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, MEGADETH, MOTORHEAD, WOLFMOTHER and VOLBEAT. More bands will be announced soon, with tickets going on sale this Friday, Jan. 29th. I don't know if this initial lineup is enough to warrant a trip to the UK, but if you are one of our European junkies, this sounds like a decent bill to trek out to. Here is a little more enticement. AC/DC playing "Thunderstruck" the last time they invaded Donington… (more…)
Required Viewing For Any Metalhead: The Decline of Western Civilization II
It may be Memorial Day weekend but that's no excuse to actually go outside and do stuff. Especially when some brave soul uploaded the entire 1988 documentary, The Decline of Western Civilization II: The Metal Years. This was of course shot when metal was the biggest thing ever. It's awesome to see all the big hair, all the clueless fans who really went nowhere. While there may be a bit too much focus on glam for my tastes (which was reflective of the time) there are still a ton of great names that appear like OZZY OSBOURNE, KISS, LEMMY from MOTORHEAD, ALICE COOPER, MEGADETH and more. Seriously, this is a must-view for any metalhead, so grab some popcorn, smoke a j and enjoy…

METALLICA get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, everyone else gets still gets shafted
Of course the annual Rock Hall ceremony is an irrelevant way for some music industry tools to feel hip by giving out awards to (mostly) good musicians. That said, with the just-announced induction of METALLICA, I'll definitely be on youtube looking for the show's highlights. I can't wait to see if they'll blare "Dyers Eve" and send Jann Wenner racing to the exit, or if they'll bore us with a more industry-palatable song from Load. What will KIRK say when they finally give him a microphone? Will DAVE MUSTAINE be allowed in? Will there be a collaboration with fellow inductees JEFF BECK and/or RUN-DMC? Which brings me to my point… (more…)

Perhaps the coolest metal video ever?
Time for a little old school MOTORHEAD up in this piece. Their video for "Killed By Death" (above) should be the blueprint for all bad-ass metal videos that follow. Come on! A motorcycle through the living room…that's so cool, they had to show it twice. What other metal videos have instant replays? I certainly can't think of any!
