CANNIBAL CORPSE Announce US Tour With MISERY INDEX

CannibalCorpseMiseryIndexTour2012

This is a suprise revelation. Months after topping off the stellar Summer Slaughter fest in the US, Cannibal Corpse are coming back for another round of headlining touring. The band just announced a new U.S. tour with Misery Index and Hour of Penance. Not that I'm complaining. That's a solid bill of bands and will surely please death metal purists. The tour kicks off on November 16th in Huntsville, AL and wraps up about a month later in Tampa. Here is the routing: (more…)

SHOCKWAVE FESTIVAL Officially Cancelled

ShockwaveCancelled

We got a bit excited about a new summer festival trying to establish itself, the Shockwave Festival. It was to feature Fear Factory and Voivod co-headlining with some awesome support acts, Cattle Decapitation, Misery Index, Revocation, Havok, Dirge Within, Last Chance To Reason, Vildhjarta, The Browining and Forged To Flame, but it seems that is no more. A few weeks ago, four of the support bands announced they couldn't make the trek due to reasons beyond their control. Last week, Voivod announced they were dropping off, then Misery Index, then Cattle Decap and then finally Fear Factory, leaving the tour promoters with no choice but to officially announce the cancellation. Here is the official statement from the tour organizers: (more…)

When I read the announcement for the Shockwave Festival, I was pretty excited about the number of awesome supporting bands. The bad news is that four of the them have dropped off the bill for reasons unknown. Fear Factory posted an updated tour flyer for the festival, which doesn't feature either Dirge Within or Forged In Flame. Metal Insider is also reporting that organizers have confirmed to them that Revocation and Vildhjarta have dropped off the tour as well. (more…)

PIG DESTROYER Announce A New Drummer

265074_10150307669946756_509246755_9350565_398166_n

Looks like PxDx has a new drummer. Last night, guitarist Scott Hull posted this photo of drummer Adam Jarvis (Misery Index) announcing him as the new drummer. There is no word on why former skinsman Brian Harvey is out of the band, and while I loved his drumming, Jarvis is a more than suitable replacement and honestly gets me even more excited about this mythical new Pig Destroyer record (that we probably won't see until 2012 at the earliest).  (more…)

Take A Break For Some High Quality NEUROTIC DEATHFEST Live Videos

YouTube Preview Image

Not all of us can be lucky enough to live in Holland, but those that do live there got the chance to experience the Neurotic Deathfest this weekend which featured such bands as At The Gates, Autopsy, Athiest and other bands whose names don't start with the letter A. For those of you like me, who were not able to attend due to financial or geographical reasons, YouTube user letthedeathmetalflow posted a bunch of awesome HD quality bootlegs a lot of the bands performing. Here are some of my favorite clips: (more…)

DESPISED ICON announce final tour of US and Canada

We already knew that Despised Icon were disbanding at the end of the year, but this sort of makes it official. The band have announced their last set of dates in the US and Canada and then that's it! But don't be sad, come out and celebrate the band and throw down in the pit! I'm pretty sure more dates are going to be added, because NY isn't listed and I heard on good authority that the band is coming here, so be on the look out. Here is the current itinerary: (more…)

Audio Roundup: New music from WHITECHAPEL, MISERY INDEX & PERIPERHY

Over the weekend, three awesome bands decided to give you a sneak peek of music they will be putting out very soon via album streams. Here is a nice lil roundup to get you up to speed:

WHITECHAPEL have released a taste of their forthcoming release, A New Era of Corruption. The track is called "The Darkest Day of Man" and may just be the best WC song I have heard yet. The song sounds heavy and crunchy and flows really well. Check it out for yourself on their MySpace page. The new album hits stores June 8th. Make sure to check out the studio reports the guys have been submitting as well.

Another release we can't wait to hear is the new album from PERIPHERY. The album comes out a week from tomorrow and to get the hype going, the band posted another new track on their MySpace page. The track is called "Insomnia" and it may leave you up all night because you will not be able to get the track out of your head.

Finally, MISERY INDEX have posted the first official studio track from their new album, Heirs to Theivery called Carrion Call on their MySpace page. I don't even have to provide any opinion because these guys are master craftsmen and always put out quality material. If the studio recording isn't enough, Metal Nick has two live bootlegs of new songs from the band in his channel.
