Audio Roundup: New music from LAZARUS AD, TRAP THEM, ELECTRIC WIZARD and more.

Two audio roundups in just as many days? Must be a good week. Today, we go a bit more underground with new tunes from Trap Them, Electric Wizard and Lazarus AD. Also, we'll tell you about a pretty sweet little side project from one of the guitarists of Periphery. Let's get this roundup started:

Lazarus AD just posted the first behind the scenes clip from their album recording on this very site. It doesn't stop there. The band has posted the title track off their upcoming release, Black Rivers Flow on Noisecreep. The album hits stores February 1st.

Trap Them are back with new music! BrooklynVegan premiered the track "The Facts" yesterday. It sounds rather awesome. And why wouldn't it? Behind the board was one of my favorite producers around, Kurt Ballou. Darker Handcraft comes out March 15th on Prosthetic.

If you just woke up (it's 1pm man) and took a giant hit of your resinated bong, then you should check out the new Electric Wizard tune which was just posted on Sterogum. If you're a stoner and don't know about this band, you're not a real stoner brah!

Finally, for something a little different: Jake Bowen, guitarist of Periphery has posted a track he was working on for an electronic/dub side project. Definitely some interesting stuff worth checking out if you're into that sort of stuff.

Amon Amarth Brought Horns, Thunder and Thrash Openers to Central New Jersey

Last night Starland Ballroom lived up to its all ages policy. That is young lads whose heads barely aligned with my hip bone (and I'm 5'2" so that's short) and older folks (some grey topped and others who listened to Black Sabbath when they were kids to piss off THEIR parents). Everyone, however, was there to headbang. Even the drunk girl with an Ed Hardy shirt, jean miniskirt and stiletto sandals (yeah, real classy) who heckled me for not acting like a drunk douchebag (aka her) until I told her to hold my camera bag to see how heavy it was.

Metal Up Your Ass

Metal Up Your Ass: Tour Advice Thursday

Touring can be tough. But, at least Geoff Tate (QUEENSRYCHE) is here to tell you communication is key. For musicians who get hurt on or just before a tour, there are always alternative options for you. One, you can get a crew to haul all your backline for you. Two, you can play from a wheelchair. And finally, three, you can web conference your riffage from home (even Obama is doing it). And if all else fails, at least you can still read my shitty list of links to feel informed for the day.
