A/V Roundup: New music from BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, CONVERGE, CHILDREN OF BODOM, HORSE THE BAND & more
So much great new music, so little time! No talk, just play:
VictoryMetal.com has posted a stream of a brand new song from BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME called "Obfuscation". In a bit of a dick move, they ask for you to enter your email address before hearing the stream, but here's the hot tip: put it a fake email address and you'll get access no problem! You're welcome. Listen here. Their new CD, The Great Misdirect is out October 27th.
I was lucky enough to hear a stream of the new CONVERGE album, and suffice to say it kicks fucking ass. Seriously. It's really really good, and I wasn't really the biggest CONVERGE fan before. Lucky for you, the band have posted the title track off their new CD, Axe To Fall for free download at SPIN. I implore you to download it and proceed to destroy your desk from the sheer rage the music will bring upon you.
CHILDREN OF BODOM have posted two tracks from their upcoming covers album, Skeletons in the Closet, on their MySpace page. The covers posted were of Billy Idol's classic "Rebel Yell" and the 80's most underrated band, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES' "War Inside My Head". The cover album comes out September 23rd.
With possibly the best song title out of all of these entries, AUSTRIAN DEATH MACHINE (the Ahhnuld-inspired project from AS I LAY DYING frontman Tim Lambesis) has posted the track "I Need Your Clothes, Your Boots, And Your Motorcycle" on their MySpace page.

This was a very busy week here at Metal Injection. We had a ton of new video content posted, so we thought we'd take a moment to recap all the new video uploads this week in case you may have missed it:
> Gunface of THE RED CHORD submitted another wacky tour diary from's this summer's Mayhem Fest worth checking out here.
> Correspondent Justina Villanueva submitted another Dispatches from the Van chronicling her time with PSYOPUS, this week focusing on how the band decides to cover METALLICA every Friday with tourmates FUCK THE FACTS. Check out too awesome covers: Master of Puppets and Creeping Death.
> HORSE THE BAND premiered their video for "Murder" exclusively on Metal Injection. The video was shot during their DIY World Tour at a top in Serbia, with one of the most insane live crowds I've seen in ages.
> Our affiliates at Contraband Candy posted a teaser for their upcoming coverage of Wacken, and it looks really good.
> Finally, it may be a little old but it's still worth checking out: MUNICIPAL WASTE went record shopping with our own Grim Kim and check out the resulting video.
METAL Injection has the exclusive world premiere of the new video from HORSE THE BAND for the track "Murder". The video was directed by Gary Lachance at Mandatory Media who had this to say about the video:
The video was filmed live in Belgrade, Serbia midway through HORSE's Earth Tour which was self-funded, self-booked and traversed 45 countries in 90 days. The show was packed with crazed Serbians power drinkers who, before entering, had chugged innumerable 3-liter bottles of beer and gorged themselves on 5 pound hamburgers. They had come from far and wide. These were rural wildmen.. hill people. The venue was a cramped, smoky dungeon, with an overflowing bathroom, no security, terrible sound and a tiny stage that emptied onto a slimy concrete staircase, which was to serve as a battleground for the hundred or so fanatics in attendance. Things were looking good. And from the first note, it was nonstop anarchy, a heaving tangle of violence and hilarity as brutish men and merciless women performed a dance of death, hurling themselves and their opponents to the floor, crushing each other in 20-something dogpiles, tearing steel fences from the floor, destroying the few functioning light fixtures, removing their clothes, and coming dangerously close to ruining HORSE's equipment and ending the tour. Directed by Gary Lachance of Mandatory Media
