Can DAVE GROHL, TRENT REZNOR and JOSH HOMME Just Start A Band Already?
I recently got to watch the Sound City documentary, and it's a pretty great film, if you're a music buff. My favorite portion of the doc is the last act, where it's basically Grohl inviting all these people to jam with him for what would become the Sound City soundtrack, Real to Reel.
The one performance that absolutely stands out is the one by Grohl with Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor on the keys and Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme on the bass. They create magic together: (more…)

Listen To Corey Taylor's Collaboration with Dave Grohl for the Sound City soundtrack
Nearly one year ago, Corey Taylor hinted that he's going in the studio with Dave Grohl. We wondered if this meant a new Probot record was on the way, but we were wrong. They were working together on a track that will appear on the soundtrack to Grohl's highly anticipated upcoming documentary, Sound City.
Today, that song has surfaced, and it's a pretty great hard rock tune. (more…)

The Two Coolest Moments Of Last Night's #121212Concert
I just reactivated my cable box, after two years of strict online TV watching, and it was the perfect time to load up the DVR, for the 12/12/12 concert for Hurricane Sandy relief. There were two moments when my DVR when from fast forward x4 to play, and they were when Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder came out and helped Roger Waters perform the Pink Floyd classic "Comfortably Numb" and when Paul McCartney and the surviving members of Nirvana, Dave Grohl, Krist Novaselic and Pat Smear got up and performed a new track, "Cut Me Some Slack." Let's watch: (more…)

DAVE GROHL Continues Being The Coolest Motherfucker In Music; Issues Statement Regarding His GRAMMY Speech
Look, Foo Fighters is not really a metal band, but time and time again, Dave Grohl continues to do really awesome fucking things, and say awesome things, that I can't help but write about him. Maybe Dave Grohl Isn't Working On A New PROBOT Record
A few weeks ago, Corey Taylor tweeted that he collaborated on a song with Dave Grohl. We jumped to conclusions and assumed that Grohl might just be working on a new Probot record, his heavy metal side project. But, it turns out that may not be the case. In the above video report, Taylor elaborates on teaming with Grohl (and Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen) and says the project revolves around a soundboard from the legendary Sound City Studios, where albums from Nirvana's Nevermind, Slipknot's Iowa and many others have been recorded. No word on what these collaborations will be used for, but I'm bummed it's most likely not a Probot record.

Corey Taylor Collaborates With Dave Grohl. Could A New PROBOT Record Be On The Way?
HUGE checks off the Bucket List today- did a song with Dave Grohl and Butch Vig. Do the words 'holy shit' say enough about it?!?
— Corey fuckin' Taylor (@CoreyTaylorRock) January 18, 2012
I really enjoyed Dave Grohl's metal record, Probot, featuring a ton of awesome collaborations with A-list metal musicians like Lemmy and Max Cavalera. Could another Probot record be on the way? It looks to be that way. A few weeks ago, RATT frontman Stephen Pearcy let the cat out of the bag that he recorded something for Grohl, and today, Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor seems to have collaborated with Grohl as well. WHAT IS ALL OF THIS COLLABORATION FOR? (more…)
