SIX FEET UNDER To Tour With CATTLE DECAPITATION And WRETCHED
Now, this is a fucking tour! Six Feet Under has announced that they will be going on tour next month with grind-masters Cattle Decapitation and Wretched. The Autumn Apocalypse Tour, which Chris Barnes apparently named himself, will begin in Tampa, Florida, on October 30. The trek will go up and down the East Coast, with a few Midwestern dates thrown in the mix. I would love to see this tour come to Texas, but it looks like I'm going to have to make the drive. Getting to see Kevin Talley drum in a band with Chris Barnes is enough reason for me to go. Check the dates below: (more…)

SHOCKWAVE FESTIVAL Officially Cancelled
We got a bit excited about a new summer festival trying to establish itself, the Shockwave Festival. It was to feature Fear Factory and Voivod co-headlining with some awesome support acts, Cattle Decapitation, Misery Index, Revocation, Havok, Dirge Within, Last Chance To Reason, Vildhjarta, The Browining and Forged To Flame, but it seems that is no more. A few weeks ago, four of the support bands announced they couldn't make the trek due to reasons beyond their control. Last week, Voivod announced they were dropping off, then Misery Index, then Cattle Decap and then finally Fear Factory, leaving the tour promoters with no choice but to officially announce the cancellation. Here is the official statement from the tour organizers: (more…)

Boo! REVOCATION, VILDHJARTA, DIRGE WITHIN, And FORGED IN FLAME Drop Off Shockwave Festival
When I read the announcement for the Shockwave Festival, I was pretty excited about the number of awesome supporting bands. The bad news is that four of the them have dropped off the bill for reasons unknown. Fear Factory posted an updated tour flyer for the festival, which doesn't feature either Dirge Within or Forged In Flame. Metal Insider is also reporting that organizers have confirmed to them that Revocation and Vildhjarta have dropped off the tour as well. (more…)
CATTLE DECAPITATION's Josh Elmore Gives You Tips For The Road
Touring is hard, and sometimes it takes a few tours under your belt to fully understand all the dos and don'ts of touring. Luckily, Cattle Decapitation guitarist Josh Elmore is giving you a leg up with his recent contribution to Noisecreep, 'Five Things to Always/Never Bring on Tour.'
Among the things to bring are wet wipes, "They're no substitute for a shower, but they will take an edge off that tasty mélange of skid marks/balls/crotch funk you've acquired." (more…)

CD Review: CATTLE DECAPITATION Monolith of Inhumanity
Cattle Decapitation like to give mixed signals: on the one hand, there are the songs beloved by animal rights activists that decry factory farm conditions and lab testing; on the other hand, there are the Cannibal Corpse-worshiping, unapologetic gore tracks. These are not mutually exclusive traits, mind you, it's just that the increasing number of context-free horror tales make one wonder just how much this band desires to be taken seriously. (more…)

A/V Roundup: New Music from Brendon Small, Cattle Decapitation Jeff Loomis, Pelican, Demon Hunter and Emmure
We're gearing up to headto the Revolver Golden Gods Awards, but before we leave, let's take a gander at some new music…
Yet another new track from Brendon Small has made it's way online. Galaktikon comes out April 29th, the same day as the new season premiere of Metalocalypse. I have to say, this is the weakest of three songs heard so far. (more…)

A/V Roundup: New music from CATTLE DECAPITATION, ARSIS, JOB FOR A COWBOY; STEEL PANTHER Roast ZAKK WYLDE
It's Tuesday morning and I'm still personally recovering from a crazy week at SXSW. Yesterday was a ton of e-mail answering and catching up and today hopefully things will slowly be restored to normal. Thankfully, while I was gone there has been a ton of awesome new music out there. Let's begin, shall we?

Well, I'm officially excited for the new Cattle Decapitation album. Holy crap, this new track, "A Living, Breathing Piece of Defecating Meat" is phenomenal, in content and song titling. I love LOVE LOVE the vocals that Travis Ryan is experimenting with on this track. Ryan is definitely one of the most underrated frontmen in extreme metal, as he has great range. We'll be able to hear that range out in full force when the band's new album, Monolith of Inhumanity, comes out May 8th. (more…)
