Slayer are calling it quits? The band have been crushing skulls for over thirty years, but their time together might be coming to an end.

The band just released this video:

Slayer are rumored to be on a massive summer tour with Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth, and Testament. One date has leaked so farUpdate: Slayer just confirmed the tour by posting this killer tour flyer:

Update #2 – Slayer just releases tour dates for their final North American tour with Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth and Testament. Get dates here.

The idea of a final Slayer tour is not too shocking as Tom Araya has spoked many times about wanting to stop touring. In a 2016 Loudwire interview, Araya said:

"At 35 years, it's time to collect my pension. [Laughs] This is a career move." He continued: "I'm grateful that we've been around for 35 years; that's a really long time. So, yeah, to me, it is. Because when we started off, everything was great, because you're young and invincible. And then there came a time where I became a family man, and I had a tough time flying back and forth. And now, at this stage, at the level we're at now, I can do that; I can fly home when I want to, on days off, and spend some time with my family, which is something I wasn't able to do when [my kids] were growing up. Now they're both older and mature. So now I take advantage of that." Araya added: "Yeah, it just gets harder and harder to come back out on the road. 35 years is a long time."

Araya even pushed back on the idea of a new Slayer album until he and King could resolve some business matters in a recent interview with Little Punk People:

Thirty-five years later, I find myself in a place where I never thought I'd ever be. I never really once thought about ever being where I am. And it's a business. And that was something that I really enjoyed doing because I loved it, and it slowly somehow turned into a business. It wasn't about making music, [it was about] the business of making music. So what I'm leading into is that we had Jeff [Hanneman], who passed away a few years back. We never really had our business matters taken care of, as far as the membership and the band and all that stuff. That's something that me and Kerry [King] are, at the moment, in the middle of getting all that squared away. So as far as the next record, apparently we did record a bunch of songs, and we finished the songs for this album, and there was, like, another six or seven songs. We'll see. [Laughs]"

Could things have come to a head?

What about a new Slayer album? Kerry King noted that they still have eight completed songs left over from the last album recording sessions. King announced he even wrote a song about Trump for the next album, one of our most anticipated of the year. It looks like King is moving full speed ahead, even though frontman Tom Araya has expressed some reservations about recording new music.
