Paul Simon REALLY Likes DISTURBED's "Sound of Silence" Cover, So Does Russel Crowe
People really seem to be responding in kind to Disturbed's cover of the classic Simon & Garfunkel tune "The Sound of Silence." We've expressed our thoughts on the subject, especially on the Livecast, but fans are really taking kind to it.
The song got a second life, as it were, after the band's rather grand performance of the cover on Conan last week, with a full orchestra. And, perhaps shockingly, Paul Simon… you know, the dude who originally performed the song, posted a very complimentary note on his Facebook page about the track:
He even plugged the album! I doubt this was a paid endorsement of any kind, Simon does not need the money. I am a bit surprised by his reaction, just because I didn't even expect the cover to be on his radar. He's not the only celebrity to respond in kind to the track. Russel Crowe tweeted over the weekend about how much he enjoys the song:

Far be it for me to criticize anybody for liking a certain song, you like what you like. Do you agree with Crowe and Simon? Do you enjoy the track? Chime in with your thoughts in the comments.
