Jim Carrey is NOT a CANNIBAL CORPSE fan
Posted on November 20th, 2009
Every metalhead's favorite scene in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective is the one where Cannibal Corpse is playing in the club and Carrey gets up on stage and parties with them (embedded above). For the longest time, it was rumored that Carrey himself asked for the band to appear in the movie as he is a big fan. Well, rumor SMASH! Carrey is not a fan. Jim's son-in-law, who himself is in the metal band BLOOD MONEY finally put the rumors to rest in a comment on a Blabbermouth post:
"For the record, Jim hates death metal… He'd never heard of CANNIBAL until doin' that movie. Trust me, it's the first thing I asked him when we met."
There you have it! After years and years, all it took was a metal dude shtooping his daughter to find out the true answer to the question Is Jim Carrey a metal fan.

sorry guxs, but did not cannibal themselves state on their dvd (or was it in a print-interview?) that carrey asked them ?
is this news-worthy? well, i guess its better than shit about As I Lay Crying and Suicide Silence..
and yeah the the DVD they said Jim knew old songs that they didn't even remember or something like that.
Why is it on the Cannibal Corpse DVD do they say that Jim Carrey seemed more excited to meet them then they were to meet him? They said he knew the songs and everything. It sounds like he used to be a fan but not anymore.
Still gets total props for that scene.
i always remembered jim liking cannibal corpse
could have used cannibal in bruce almighty
Yeah, exactly. WHAT ABOUT the Cannibal Corpse DVD?
I'll believe Corpse's word over Blabbermouth anyday. Besides, I figured out Blabbermouth was a bucket of bullshit while I was in high school…I think its time Metal Injection journalists did the same.
They should put Corpse in every movie. That will stop the epidemic of shitty movies.
Jim probably lied to his son-in-law cuz he doesnt like him. I mean, come on, if Jim likes Corpse, he definately wouldn't like the fact that someone in Blood Money married his daughter!
Wait a minute. I've seen the movie about MANY times, but that scene has never been there. In the version I've seen they've just shown the band very briefly and Ace didn't go anywhere near the scene.
Is this from an extended version or something?
