Album is half-assed and mediocre like everything else In Flames has put out that is not Colony or Jester Race. Has about three good songs and doesn't do anything else. Songwriting is mediocre. Vocals are shit. Then again, it's a new In Flames album and that doesn't change.

Bunk, you said that people were just "in shock" that they have "no taste in music"… what the fuck are you even talking about? "NO" taste, or did you mean to say "BAD" taste? Furthermore, how would this half-assed partial "social commentary" on In Flames really enlighten me on any subject, especially my musical taste? THAT is, essentially, my main point. Love them or hate them, WRITE A REVIEW ABOUT THE FUCKING ALBUM. Don't post "In Flames used to play melodic death metal. Now they have synth and play a more modern style of melodic metal. It's the same as usual. I don't like it." and call it a review. And if you, Bunk, would've been literate enough to READ, you would've seen that I've expressed this thought multiple times already.

And if your grammar wasn't atrocious enough (learn how to capitalize and use the correct spellings of words, you fucking child), it was an extra bonus to see you say "you kids whining about the reviewer not 'listening'…", as the reviewer probably DIDN'T listen (and sure as hell didn't review), you CLEARLY didn't read, and I'd bet cold, hard cash on the fact that you're all of 16 years old and consider yourself an elitist because you bought an old-school Carcass shirt off JSRdirect.com. Anyone who says Sense of Purpose similar to previous three ablums hasn't listened it yet. The style is brand new and different. Quite good and refreshing, but could have been better.

Fine, but that doesn't make it a good review. Read the post above mine to explain in detail what was wrong with it. Simplified, your review says: I like old In Flames. This is not old In Flames, therefore I do not like it as much. The end.

It doesn't matter whether what you said was right or wrong, it's just not a very good review. It's a forum post, but hey, this isn't a forum. Learn to write a review.

Also, mentioning the Billboard charts is about as nonsensical as the structure of the first sentence ("In Flames are nothing if not consistent."??? Were you looking to say "In Flames are consistent, if nothing else."???). Marred grammar through double negatives aside, you've said nothing about THE ALBUM here. I'm not even writing this as an In Flames fan, but as someone who believes that if you are to review an album, you should do just that. If you think their last 4 albums sound alike, TELL ME WHY (You'd be wrong, but I'd like to hear why you think you're right). If you think the new album sounds similar to recent efforts, TELL ME HOW. Talk about the material you're supposed to be reviewing, not about the material you're still spinning that came out in '97 or '99.

LEARN TO WRITE SOMETHING WITH SUBSTANCE. PLEASE. God, I can't believe your review was so terrible that I not only spent the time reading it, but replying to it in such a fashion.

I've listened to each and every In Flames album at great length, including 'A Sense of Purpose'. I stand by every word I wrote in this review.

Are you joking? You've either not listened to these albums or are deaf, because Reroute, Soundtrack, and Come Clarity are all vastly different albums with only a few core elements binding them together under the 'in flames' banner. This 'review' of A Sense of Purpose is pretty lame… have you actually listened to the album, or is this just a prediction? I learned virtually nothing about the album from this review, and your first paragraph is ridiculous, as is most of what you wrote. This needs rewriting or taking down.
