The Osbournes is largely considered the first reality series that followed celebrities around in their everyday lives. If it weren't for the Osbournes, we would never have the Kardashians. Is that a big thing, though?
There is no time to debate that because Sharon Osbourne was recently on a U.K. talk show and revealed the family is considering getting together for an abbreviated season:
"Ozzy has decided that he wants to do another few episodes — not a whole season, about eight episodes — of 'The Osbournes'. It's been 13 years since the last one. He said that for the whole three years that we did it, he was drunk the whole time, so he said he would like to do one where he is completely sober, as he is now…"
She added: "It's not forever. It's no more than eight episodes. Because it's been 13 years and our lives have changed so much, it's a kind of catchup. It's like, 'What are they doing now?' That's it."
I very much enjoyed the first season of the show but all the seasons that followed seemed a bit too staged. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing this. The show will start taping again in January. No word on if it will air on MTV again. Perhaps the series would also spotlight some Black Sabbath writing sessions?
