CARNIFEX Frontman Launches His New Graphic Novel Series Death Dreamer

Due out this July.

Due out this July.

Carnifex frontman Scott Ian Lewis has written a brand new graphic novel series called Death Dreamer. The first issue is illustrated by Chris DiBari (Hoax Hunters, Magdalena) with colors by Simon Gough (G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes, Ringside), lettering by Taylor Esposito (Red Hood & The Outlaws, Babyteeth), and cover by Chris Shehan (Prometheus, Deadbeat).

Lewis says Death Dream originally began as a television script and has evolved into what it is today.

“Death Dreamer is a world that's lived in my head for years. First existing on that page as a television script and now it's grown into a graphic novel brought to life by an incredibly talented team of artists. Christian, Simon, Taylor, and Chris have really elevated the characters in a truly amazing way. This book has been created completely independently, from writing the script on tour buses in eastern Europe to finding our amazing artist's through Twitter.”

Lewis will crowdfund the graphic novel from June 11 to July 18, where he'll premiere the novel at San Diego Comic-Con and do some signings. Lewis is seeking $20,000 and some of the perks include signed Death Dreamer graphic novel, a Death Dreamer T-shirt, flag or poster, to a custom Death Dreamer evidence bag filled with a patch, a pen from the mortuary and a toe tag.
