ROB ZOMBIE Encourages You To Steal His Music On Vinyl

This is the new piracy, y'all.

This is the new piracy, y'all.

The conversation about music piracy seems to have died down a bit with the rising popularity of streaming services, though Rob Zombie presents his fans with a new challenge. In an interview with Kerrang, he says he and his band are working on a new album beginning this August, and then turns the conversation to the consumption of music in 2017.

Zombie says he doesn't care if you're going to steal his music, just make sure you're actively shoplifting his vinyl.

"I like making [music]. I’m different than like a lot of people I hear talking. I don’t care if people are buying it. I’m sick of hearing about the old days. Who gives a shit? Talking about CD’s, it’s like you sound like your grandparents talking about CD’s. Drop it, man. Fucking boring topic. Make it—I don’t care if they steal it, whatever they can—I prefer they sneak into the store and steal the vinyl. But if they choose to steal the download that’s OK too. But I challenge you, start stealing the vinyl if you’re gonna steal our music."

Also, when you get arrested, make sure to tell law enforcement that Rob Zombie told you to do it – not us.
