Suggestions For Your Summer Metal Jams Playlist 2015

Summer 2015 is in full effect! For you youngins that means late night adventures and no school. For you respectable adults who spend most of the year surfing Spotify at your designated work stations, it’s time to burn through those vacation hours and rock out like a free person. To help celebrate the influx in road trips, BBQs, and alcohol fueled gatherings that summer brings, we here at Metal Injection have crafted a playlist of rollicking metal tunes to help keep the good times rolling this season. Best of all, the bulk of these songs are “normal people approved,” so you won’t freak out your civilian friends/family at the lake. Aunt Tina might not be ready for Behemoth just yet, but she’ll be “Hot Rockin” with Rob and the boys in no time.

Baroness- The Sweetest Curse

Nothing like a fat intro riff to kick summer off into high gear, AMIRITE?! Baroness’ crushing, yet warm and fuzzy guitar tone sets the perfect stage for this, the goodtime season. If Thin Lizzy became swash buckling pirates, they’d sound like Blue Album era Baroness and that should cure whatever summertime blues that ail you.

Torche- Kiss Me Dudely

2015 will go down in the history books as this century’s “summer of love.” It took some time but now, everyone in the good ol’ US of A can marry whoever the fuck they want. Here’s one of Torche’s most rockin’ numbers to celebrate our ascension into modernity. I’d rather play air drums and shout “kiss me dudely [or girly, trans-ly, however],” than recoil in fear screaming “don’t taze me bro!” anyways.

Coliseum- Bad Will

Some people don’t have the luxury of taking vacations. For those brave souls who toil away at the office or behind a counter during prime bikini season, this jam’s for you. You may be stuck in that sweaty ass polyester blend uniform, or dealing with IT issues in your cubicle, but you can still pretend to have fun while hating all the friends on your social media feeds with rich relatives. “…I hate your smirking face too.”

The Dillinger Escape Plan- Milk Lizard

Dillinger are the masters of seizure inducing time changes and larger than life choruses. For the sake of good times at the bonfire this summer, we’re celebrating the latter. That horn section, the piano, that surprisingly pleasant sounding double bass drum onslaught, “Milk Lizard” is probably in the running for Dillinger’s catchiest song. This tune should definitely get everyone huddled around the fire wishing this summer was never ending.
