Vital Remains

Vital Remains

Although the band had been churning out records since the early 90’s, it wasn’t until their 2003 album Dechristianize that Vital Remains became a major player in the metal underworld. Joined by Deicide frontman Glen Benton on vocals, Vital Remains mastermind Tony Lazaro and his musical partner/prodigy Dave Suzuki, created a marathon of blasphemous and brilliantly epic death metal on that record, which catapulted the band toward critical acclaim and shit loads of touring for years to come. Unfortunately, their 2007 follow up album, Icons of Evil, failed to recapture the (black)magic of Dechristianize and the band hasn’t released any new material since. Both Suzuki and Benton left the band in 2009, but maybe one day the Dechristianize lineup will resurface and conjure more wicked tunes for the faithful.
