13-Year-Old Korean Shredder Steals the Show at Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony

This kid is going places

The 2018 Winter Olympics have come and gone and the highlight of the closing ceremony in Pyeongchang was 13-year-old South Korean shredder Yang Tae Hwan. Hwan dazzled audiences during the ceremony with a rippin' rendition of Vivaldi's 'Winter' that had social media in a frenzy.

Hwan even got the attention of Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick who captioned a photo of the teen shredder with the message "Electric guitar to world: “Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated“ Holy smokes, who saw last night’s Olympics finale?"

The Winter Olympics also featured skating routings to the music of AC/DC and Disturbed, so it's nice to see rock and electric guitar have a presence at the Games. Maybe at the next games we'll get some thrash metal?
