WORMROT Cancel US Tour To Avoid Visa Issues, Promise To Return Next Year

It's not easy getting a visa for a band. As much as it's easy to point the blame at the current administration in office, the truth is foreign bands have been having problems obtaining work visas for years now.

It all comes down to filing the proper paperwork. Some bands try to skirt around the issues by traveling with tourist visas and not bringing any gear, but such actions are illegal and can get a band deported. You might recall a recent SXSW dust up, that while initially might have been blamed on America's immigration policy, was actually because the band did not file the proper paperwork.

To avoid any such issues, Wormrot have announced they are cancelling their recently announced US tour.

“Due to the current political climate and numerous bands being turned away at US customs, we felt it was not worth the risk coming to America without the right paperwork, which is expensive. Therefore we truly apologize that we must postpone our US tour until next year when we can focus on a full length tour with all the right papers.

“We regret that we came to a decision this late, one month to the start of the tour. Once again, we apologize to everyone who are affected.”
