The unnamed-until-Friday band consisting of Jed Simon (ex-Strapping Young Lad, Zimmers Hole), bassist-or-guitarist Brian Waddell (ex-The Devin Townsend Band, Devin Townsend Project), bassist Byron Stroud (ex-Strapping Young Lad, ex-Fear Factory), and drummer Ryan van Poederooyen (ex-The Devin Townsend Band, Devin Townsend Project), announced their existence on Monday and promised to reveal their frontman today. They've kept their promise and have officially announced vocalist Jon Howard (Threat Signal, Arkaea) as such, and according to the Facebook of van Poederooyen.
van Poederooyen adds that the band will be playing quite a few shows over the course of 2018 and that the band will be releasing new material sometime soon. I'd assume alongside the name reveal would also come some timeline of when new music is happening, and we'll keep you posted once we know! I also have to wonder what this means for Threat Signal?
We are proud to announce our frontman/singer, Mr. Jon Howard of Threat Signal and Arkaea acclaim. We were looking into a few other known singers and then, Jon was recommended to us through a mutual good friend, Neil A. Lim Sang. Thanks to, Neil for suggesting, Jon and keeping it on the down-low! We got in touch with Jon and were immediately blown away with the talent this guy possesses. He recorded vocals for a couple demos of ours, just a couple days after talking with him for the first time. Once we heard his vocal demos, we knew we found our guy. Jon can sing, scream and growl with the best of them. He's showing off his voice in more ways than one in this band. We can't wait for you to hear the versatility and power of Jon's voice at our future live shows and on our debut album. Brian 'Beav' Waddell, Byron Stroud, Jed Simon and I are beyond stoked to have him fronting the band. Welcome, Jon everyone!
