The Obsessed, a band fronted by Saint Vitus frontman Scott "Wino" Weinrich, put out its final album in 1994 titled The Church Within. There was a brief reunion in 2011 that never quite amounted to new material, though this time the reunion is for real!
The Obsessed has signed to Relapse Records and will be dropping a new record at some point this summer. For those unaware, The Obsessed originally formed in 1976, underwent a name change, went through a hiatus in the late 80s, and is considered to be one of the first doom bands in the vein of Black Sabbath.
