THE MARS VOLTA's Cedric Bixler-Zavala Says Band Will "Be Back Soon"

Posted by on February 12, 2018 at 1:25 pm

The Mars Volta called it quits in 2013 after founders and only two consistent members of the band Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala revealed they weren't on talking terms anymore.

The band then said later that same year they weren't technically broken up, and eventually got back together in 2014 under the name Antemasque and later in At The Drive-In in 2016. Both bands put out albums under their respective names, and now it seems like the duo may eventually be ready to get back together under The Mars Volta name once more.

Bixler-Zavala told one fan on Twitter that yes, The Mars Volta would eventually come back around, but he feels as though he and Rodríguez-López still have much to accomplish under the At The Drive-In name.

So don't count on a follow-up to 2012's Nocturniquet anytime soon it seems, but at least the reunion it on the table, right? In the meantime, Bixler-Zavala says he hopes to put out more new material under At The Drive-In.
