SOUNDGARDEN is officially reuniting

Happy 2010! The first sign that the new decade is going to school you (and an addendum to one of 2009's top stories) arrives in the form of this message on SOUNDGARDEN's website:

"The 12-year break is over and school is back in session. Sign up now. Knights of the Soundtable ride again!"

Sign me up! I don't even really know what this means, but the thoughts of KIM THAYIL's talents are being put to use again, CHRIS CORNELL getting back where he belongs and hearing "Jesus Christ Pose" live are enough to reaffirm my faith in all things awesome. We'll be posting updates as we get them, but until then, here's a dose of "Outshined."

Jesus Christ Pose = The archetype that Tool, the band, modeled their sound after. Incredible song, incredible band, they never released a shitty album. My year has been made.

    spooge-worthy news.

  • Three Dee

Jesus Christ Pose is great, but my favorite Soundgarden song is "Gun".

  • MammothCommander

Yes!!! "Jesus Christ Pose", "4th of July" and "Black Hole Sun" are my favorites.

oh hot damn this just made 2010 start aweeeseomely.

though, i'll throw in some acceptance of truth to this comment and admit that the new chris cornell SUCKS, all the band members are old, their intentions of reuniting – questionable – beyond the thickness of their wallets…nonetheless, HELL yes!

back in the day, when CC had the real Jesus hair.

I am just glad Kim is back with this band, without him Soundgarden was shit.

  • Maigaard

Hoo-fucking-ray. Am I the only one who doesn't really care about Soundgarden? I thought Chris Cornell had butchered his entire career (with the help of Timbaland, of course) but he still seems to make people wet themselves.

  • lesslikehuman

whoa!!! its gonna be a goodyear

  • DaveClinch

Maigaard, I'm really not sure what you are talking about. The talk here is about Soundgarden, the band, not Chris Cornell and or his career.
