No word on the cause of bassist' ailments yet.

Earlier tonight, Sunday, August 2nd, a few songs into Slipknot's set on their current headlining tour, the band had to stop their performance and bassist Alessandro "Vman" Venturella was rushed to the hospital.

Blabbermouth reports the band stopped the show for about twenty minutes, and then returned as an eight-piece, sans Venturella and completed the set. Before the band continued on, frontman Corey Taylor addressed the crowd saying:

"I'm gonna let you know what's going on right now. I'm sorry to say that our bass player, Alex, had… Something happened. I'm not sure what happened. He's been put into an ambulance and he's going to the hospital right now as we speak. But I want you all to make fucking noise for him. Send him some fucking love. Now, we had a choice to come back out here. We've had to modify some shit, but we're gonna keep on playing for you. It's what we want, it's what Alex would fucking want."

Update 7/3/15: Slipknot just posted a message saying Alessandro has been discharged from the hospital and suffered from severe dehydration. Read their statement here.

Slipknot's next scheduled live date is this Tuesday, August 4th.
