SLEEP Are Working On A New Record

Don't sleep on new music from SLEEP!

Don't sleep on new music from SLEEP!

In an interview with Alibi.com that dropped on Jan. 2, Sleep vocalist and bassist Al Cisneros recounted how busy of a guy he is with all his musical ventures picking up recently. Namely the fact that he and his fellow musicians are working on new Sleep and Om records with no real letting on as to when they'll be out. While Om is some solid jams Cisneros has going on, they're pretty consistently putting out records (that's a good thing), so there's no huge deal there. But Sleep? Well holy shit. Sleep hasn't put anything out since 2003's Dopesmoker, which was just a re-worked 1999's Jerusalem! That's coming up on 15-years of nothing and it seems like the opportune time for the band to re-emerge considering Dopesmoker was re-released by Southern Lord in 2012 and made (another) big splash in the metal community!

It's also be interesting to see where the band go with new material, especially since Matt Pike has been bringing the heavies in High on Fire ever since Sleep called it quits and the band has Jason Roeder on drums since 2010. In the meantime, why don't you go get yourself a Sleep pillow case? You know you want it.
