Sanctuary's most recent tour ended up becoming a possible farewell for the band after the death of vocalist Warrel Dane in 2017. Witherfall vocalist Joseph Michael filled in for Dane live and even said the band was considering carrying on with him as the new vocalist.
Now in an interview with Metal Insider, Michael says he's working on new music with Sanctuary and they've recently completed a photo shoot for promo materials.
I have been flying up to Seattle a few times a month to work with Lenny, Dave (Budbill – Sanctuary, drums) and George (Hernandez – Sanctuary, bass). We just did a photo shoot. As soon as i’m done typing i have to demo some songs.
Sanctuary is currently Michael, bassist George Hernandez who joined in 2016, and original members drummer Dave Budbill and guitarist Lenny Rutledge.
